Swear to god, the internet has made people lose their *** minds, you are arguing on a video game forum, about ***that is way above your pay grade, against things that have been studied to death and taught to us in grade school.
Go bury your head in the internet, cuz it's on YouTube it's totes the real truth. Ffs GTFO here with that ***.
Youre like the stupid teachers that think wikipedia isnt possible for being a source, when everything posted there is backed up with links to the sources right *** there.
If a factual youtube video with linked sources in the description linking to everything youre literally asking for is not good enough for you, shut up, you have no place in this discussion.

Backup his assertation that reinfection doesn't occur with a non-mutated viral strain. No he doesn't have to. Pasture did that you *** dunce.

I just did. It wasnt "good enough" for you. Nevermind the countless medical documents on the subject and how the body works, and ***we've known for decades.
Again, why do you think booster shots exist, if people are immune for life on everything? If you were immune under what you believe, you wouldnt need a booster shot.

Wikipedia..... Really? This internet thing must be new to you.
Pro-tip, the internet is a vast cess pool of horseshit that ANYONE can publish their idiotic whims of thought as facts for sheep like you to buy.
Maybe 1% of what is on the internet has value, the rest is commercialized garbage for the masses to subdue themselves with.

lol? You seem pretty mad at the fact no one is listening to your nonsense. You haven't said anything, you don't have "years of experience" backing you up. Nice temper tantrum tho.
You know, I hope that getting covid-19 once does make people immune to it, but I will wait for the scientists (ie, not you or absknight) to tell us this fact. Until then, it's an unsubstantiated opinion. And seeing how it's a brand new virus, with no real comparable cases, it's probably going to be a year or two until we know.

Literally in the description of the video.
Looks at the various models that explain immunity duration, and presents another. But for the purposes of this argument, is not the point. The point is that immunity varies and is not permanent, which this can prove. We already knew immunity was not permanent.

I simply stated that there was no evidence that a person cannot get infected with Covid-19 twice, this was in response to a claim that being infected once did in fact, provide a person with immunity to covid. There still is no evidence backing up that claim. Pretty easy.
That's a duh. It's really sad what some states pass off as education.

For most its useless information beyond the basics. But, i mean, nows the time to learn. People just dont wanna.

As far as the US is concerned, it's a 4 month old virus. And we have people advocating to just go get it, beat it, and call it a day. Based on.. previous ..far less deadly viruses..I guess?
There is a reason the CDC isn't pushing this herd immunity nonsense. It's way too early in the lifespan of the virus to be throwing out wild ideas like that. Even if it's a 1% mortality rate, and remember, absknight threw out 2% earlier, but I'm sticking with just 1, that's..2+ million Americans dead. And that's a very low end, conservative number.
Pass.

And thats assuming it stays at 1%... which it wont, because it thins resources for everything else, including it. The 1% is with modern medicine and treatment. Without it, every medical necessity becomes deadly. You cant easily contain this in a hospital, and people still need other treatment. If someone gets into a car wreck, and needs to be treated for a few days, and they get it... their chance of death severely increases, as their body is already dealing with other issues.

There are thousands of documented cases of people catching this virus twice.
From page 100. You’re trying to backpedal your way out of the embarrassment. If people were being re-infected, then there would be outcry from medical workers getting sick over and over and over. The reason there’s no outcry and no reporting on this is because it’s not happening. Vic is caught in a blatant lie, again. He’s acting like a stubborn baby about providing a source because there is no source for him to provide. In the words of the very stable genius, “Sad.”
Comparing covid-19 to HIV is ludicrous. Read this entire article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/coronavirusfrontlines/2020/04/22/this-hivaids-specialist-explains-its-similarities---and-differences---to-covid-19/#423d00d549f8
I’m positive you won’t read the whole thing, so here’s the main takeaway relevant to your HIV comparison straw man: “ Here is the good news: coronaviruses have a significantly lower spontaneous mutation rate than HIV. Preliminary data suggest that this property is true for SARS-CoV-2. We also know that the SARS-CoV-2 genome does not integrate into the genomes of infected cells. Finally, past research on coronaviruses indicates that humans mount a strong immune response to these viruses.”
All sources listed in the article. I feel like I’m debating small children... vic for sure knows he’s wrong and has been trolling for reactions the past couple pages, but is definitely mentally incapable of embarrassment or self-assessment. nyaarun I think genuinely believes the things he’s saying, which is disappointing, to say the least. I don’t think any kind of productive debate can be had with people like either of them.

lol, more desperate personal attacks eh? I've never even mentioned HIV, where did that even come from? You have not caught me in anything, yes, there have been many instances of people catching it again. I'm not backpedaling at all. You have still not provided a shred of evidence that catching it once makes you immune. I will continue to wait for you prove your assertion tho. Its not hard for me at all. None of your attacks have landed. You are still at the starting line.

Do people seriously not know how viruses work? You vastly overestimate the educational levels, not just in the USA, but in the world.
There are thousands of documented cases of people catching this virus twice. Testing positive twice =/= catching it twice.

I am not sure if people notice that even if you are no longer sick, it doesn't mean the virus isn't sticking around like a bad rash that will cause you to spread it around like peanut butter on a carpet.
Most likely, people didn't catch it twice, it never left them in the 1st place.
Or maybe faulty testing equipment from China is to blame... who knows. China haz HQ stuff!

It depends on the success rate of the tests as well. A positive test result followed days/weeks later by a false negative followed days/weeks later by a positive result would make it look like someone contracted the virus on two separate occasions. I don’t know how many patients are getting tested that regularly, but if it’s common enough and the tests aren’t extremely robust then you could easily get a large number of people “catching it twice”.

Most likely, people didn't catch it twice, it never left them in the 1st place.... How viruses work:
They inject RNA into cells. Their RNA. Mostly the cell will replicate more viruses using the cell's own mechanisms and the virus's code.
BUT!!! Sometimes the virus will go dormant inside a cell only to reappear years, even decades, later. See chicken pox and shingles.
Yet another BUT!!! Once you are infected by a virus you are never really rid of it. Its RNA is in your cells. Your body may have developed immunity, successfully destroying any viruses that emerge, but its still there. Always will be.
Indeed some former viruses have become part of our DNA.
Most of you probably know each of these facts but none of us naturally think about viruses like that. We are all used to getting sick, then getting better. When we get better its gone right?

Testing positive twice =/= catching it twice.
Its not exactly testing positive twice.
Its testing positive after two negative tests spaced a day~a few days apart.
It could be potential reinfection, it could be picking up viral remnants, it could be a lot of things. Its certainly not "faulty test equipment" as someone else suggested, the equipment works fine.
Ultimately, more data is needed, but there is no concrete proof of lasting immunity after infection currently as a result.

Quote: A number of reported cases of coronavirus patients relapsing after overcoming the disease were actually due to testing failures, South Korean scientists say.
That doesn't mean you can't get it twice, just that these instances were testing failures.
Still a lot of learning to do. With all the new symptoms (covid toes, heart attacks, foot sores/welts) It's not safe to assume anything.

I mean, i can see how it is propaganda. The chinese government did try to cover it up massively and sweep it under the rug. But the US did and is doing the exact same thing.
Also, china warning us is irrelevant... we dont rely purely on other countries to give us heads up. We dont have the FBI, CIA, etc for show and tell. Even then, theres also the freelance information network which did get information out... which would get picked up by the government anyway. If i had this information in january, the government definitely did.
The whole china thing itself is just an irrelevant blame shift.

So, today was the first case of the virus being confirmed in my rural county.
This last week has been pretty insane to start. Most grocery stores have been emptied, toilet paper is non existent. Bars, hotels, and casinos have been shutdown as of yesterday, our town relies heavily on these sources of income. There are now rumors that our mine sites will soon be shutdown as well. I plan to withdraw a substantial amount of cash from the bank tomorrow morning, and hit every store I can get my hands on to get some groceries before the hoarding gets any worse.
I have heard of California being on total lockdown, as well of rumors of people even being imprisoned for attempting to leave the state.
Curious to hear how other parts of the country are getting along, surprised there isn't an official Corona-Virus thread here yet.
Crazy stuff.
