You had to be in the zone and party when you lotted to get it it. You didn't have to be when the duping happened. This ***was kept secret for years you think that would've happened if they literally duped stuff in front of buyers lol? I mean sure most people wouldn't even notice anything and just assume drops went to their party and it would be reasonable to not expect people to think others but eventually someone is going to be like wait there are way more buyers than drops... I can't speak for every group but go back to the original drama on it. Several groups had people at minimum disband and get invited back when/if drops happened. Hell some groups had people log out and would contact them to log back in real quick if something dropped. There were some bans that not only weren't online when the dupes happened but also didn't even buy anything since their drop didn't drop.

I think people forget just how scorched earth they went back then since for the most part well known exploits have largely gotten a slap on the wrist.

Right, none of that is suspicious or anything, they knew, that's why they got bopped.

They went full scorched earth in the past cause they could afford to. Not so much now, that's why I'm surprised even the couple that did get banned actually got banned. (not, that surprised.)

About as suspicious as huge amounts of cheap rare items...

I'm not saying it's going to happen again anywhere. In fact kind of implied they wont. As I said they haven't done anything like that in forever. Plus they had the manpower to check years of logs in and out of zone for everyone involved back then. I was merely answering if they had banned for merely buying before. The answer is a simple yes. Edit: also some of you might not remember but original salvage was a terrible terrible system with the whole cell thing where one person being bad at passing can *** your run. It's actually not that weird to have someone who is being carried to not be in party to prevent that. Hell sometimes would do that for early floors if my static had to get a pick up or 2 until they got well enough unlocked

So, the exploit was not terribly complicated, how it wasn't widespread earlier is beyond me. You send a trade packet, where all 8 indices point at the same item slot, and all 8 quantities are less than or equal the amount in that slot. IE:
-I have 13 beastmen's medals in slot 1.
I send trade packet with the 8 items as:
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 13 items
Slot 1, 8 items.

The server checks my inventory each timee, and confirms I have them. Then, it removes the items from the slot, and enters the menu, saying I have 99 beastmen's medals. I exit the menu, it gives me back 99.

This could be used on any sort of trade gamewide, so no, it wasn't limited to beastmen's medals. You could trade astrals, heroism, alex, and get up to 7-8x(7x on things where weapon had to be part of the trade) as much credit as you deserved. You couldn't get them back out if the NPC didn't actually take them from your inventory and hand them back, so there were no duped astrals or heroism. I didn't check alex, someone said paparoon hands it back, but I suspect he only does that on the final trade of a mythic so at most it's like 700 free aleex with a mythic, which is resoundingly meh. Still, 1/8 cost mythics.

You could trade gil to the gobbiebox and feed 8x as much, then take some back out and repeat for infinite gil. You could use leafdim/duuskdim/etc stone storage NPC to multiply the stones as much as you wanted. The delivery crate could be used to multiply any trial mat infinitely, by canceling on the confirmation step. The synthesis focuser could be used to duplicate spheres, crystals. The reason I didn't want to give out even the slightest hint is because the more people thought it was just medals, the less actual damage could be done.

Now, as far as the people talking about shozo and ricon being innocent and quitting?

I 'upgraded' to windows 10 a couple weeks ago on this pc and I've been kind of lazy about getting all my settings back, but fair. I'll grab one now.

And finally the day I discovered that the trade function was done improperly causeing said glitch. This actually originally said fern stones, and I was gonna release prematurly to prevent people knowing it worked on other NPC's.


Chiaia can verify if needed, as I had him remove from windower discord.

I don't claim to be an expert lua writer, I do it as a hobby and it's fun for me so the bad code led me to the development. Comeatme never had any negative intentions and I supported his reaction. We both agreed we could have done thing differently, but hey life. My goto was making empyreans, so I actually didnt lose any accounts accept my main, which I lost from being lazy and trying to strike one last deal. Could I have taken a lot more advantage of this, hell yes, but did I? No as I was over the game. The day I was targeted was actually the day I transfered all my gear form my mules to my main to hold incase I ever came back. So I actually torched my gil/items all in the same day lol.
