As usual, expect them to start enabling accounts early on Thursday. Probably around the previous JP midnight from past experience.

Time to get those bonanza balls

Oh great. Crashed when it tried to launch the game. Run file check, finds bad files. Crashes again. Then I notice that every time I run file repair it says 30 files are bad. I ran chkdsk too, it's clean, and the files are on my D drive.

Is someone still doing the "zip of all current files" thing?

B please not the scary 8-hour full reinstall, have some mercy, just a zip of the ROM folders because updates used to take so long. That used to be a thing. Hmm, it looks like it's a few months old, but better than nothing.

Anyhow it seems to be the same 30 files, mostly in ROM\0\ and also two sound files. Maybe they broke the master list for file check or something.

It's probably partly because I tried to force an update by renaming a file. I usually rename a single .DAT file to force a reinstall, but I didn't realize that the 0.DAT that I renamed was a whole folder.

Someone should try running file check (but do NOT let it download new files!) to see if it's not just me.

The monthly updates don't really add many new .DAT files. Maybe 20-30 minutes probably less download.

I haven't seen a 8 hour download in years, its usually ~2 hours without above link.

Well it was worth a try, it went through the updater, it still crashes and it still insists that the same 30 files are bad. At this point I should make a new thread.

I was just wondering when a free campaign would be. Time to do some lvl 1 playing for old times sake.
