Will WoW Classic affect FFXI playability?

There is a different mentality on Asura. I had to buy Ioskeka belt+1 to not be considered gimp :( Then *** Asura? That was my original server over a decade ago and when I was given the opportunity to start elsewhere, I wasn't upset to do so. It's not like Asura's reputation is something new, is my point.
If they would just open up the *** AH to be worldwide, no one would stay on asura.
It is the literal only reason to stay. So much so that it trumps how ***everything else is.
Shouts used to be worth staying for but even those are more or less completely gone replaced by merc. God bless "that one merc" though. Mad love.
(problem: lose money from transfers by making AH worldwide
Solution: $2 a month to access it)

Field is extremely over-saturated. What happens when they don't keep anyone in check anymore. Cancerous the rate it spreads.

It's not that different and you're hilarious, hilariously sad at trying to ad-hom when you've already lost the argument.
How can anyone lose an argument when most points, as you yourself say, are "entirely subjective"? So much for logic. Come back when you can argue.
I don't have the time or the patience to explain to you how logic works.
Oh, and one more thing for the sociopath - ad hominem is where you don't attempt to argue against a point and instead attack them. If you do argue against a point and happen to point out that they're either not reading or lack the intellignce to comprehend the argument, as you clearly did (repeatedly pointed out I am not talking about my own situation) then it is not ad hominem.
To save face in future, please don't use terms incorrectly as it makes you look silly to anyone who actually knows what they mean.
See the above, and it is an ad-hom.

I'm confused how this is relevant. White boxes are a pleasant bonus but usually not terribly meaningful.
Honestly, I'm in awe that in FFXI in 2019, the community isn't entirely focused on BiS. What are people doing with their time if HQ is considered a luxury? What else is there to even do? Content has been so slow for so long you should easily run out of normal gear acquisition after not long.

Exactly.

Depends on your playtime and how many hours you have to sink into the game.

Sure, this works for anyone who is a recent return, but we've had wave 3 and REMA augments for coming up a year now? If you're interested and serious enough about the game you're 7 pages deep into this thread discussing the pros and cons of different servers, how are you not capped out on at least something by now?

Content has been so slow for so long you should easily run out of normal gear acquisition after not long. I come to the opposite conclusion: why are you still playing if the only motivation is to get something very rare for utterly nominal gains? I see people with capped gil and half the DREAM weapons in the game and four different sets of Herculean equipment because they want slightly different augments for slightly different situations, then I look at what content there is and ask, "What's the point of all your grinding? Nothing is that hard."
Maybe that's why I'll never understand this push to have "classic" servers. If I've already done it and done it to death, especially when it's a masochistic grind that trades hundreds of hours of my life just to start approaching the level cap, why would I want to do it again? I'm a big fan of FFXII, have played it an embarrassing number of times, but I would have to force myself to level up legitimately instead of exploiting game mechanics to pick up around 50 levels in the starting zone. Even knowing all the tricks and such, MMOs are designed to be an unholy grind, especially MMOs circa 2005, so I'm clueless what the appeal is.

Wait, so if getting gear of utterly nominal gains is NOT why you're playing...why are you playing? This game has been about that for literally its whole history.
Also, lol @ "4 sets of herculean". I've got like 12 herc boots, and 13 THF ambu capes...

I have a limit to the effort:reward ratio I will chase. MAGA helps with this but I'm still limited by space because I like to have a lot of jobs usable (not bis) so I'm most flexible.
Having taken so much time out I'm not at the point of needing to chase tiny upgrades yet but I recently returned after a while away and got 2 chars 4/4 Odin drops in a couple of days so that didn't keep me busy for long. I think the game is going to need some more substantial content soon to keep people playing.
It doesn't need anything to keep addicts playing. Clearly evidenced by lack of anything, but they're(you're) still all here.
Odin is done day one. Cait over day one. Alex will be first day too. "adjustments" are a joke.

Dienamis-D is literally RMT heaven. Current incarnation is sublime for money and a gigantic pile of ***for everything else.
I would not be surprised at all if someone like thornyy makes a billion+ (after crafting) on some runs.

Sure thing, just not the time nor patience, especially when it comes to certain people.

I don't have the time or the patience to explain to you how logic works.
See the above, and it is an ad-hom. The standard running away with your tail between your legs that you do every time you get challenged to defend your rhetoric. Every time anyone ever responds to your self-hating sociopathy you run.
Doesn't even understand the phrases he's trying to use hahaha. Come back when you've got the ability to actually argue and not just spew attempted put downs. Don't use terms out of context that you clearly don't understand.
I understand exactly what I'm saying, you're apparently too ignorant to comprehend it. It literally comes as no surprise. But keep using the ad-homs, it's almost cute.
Unlike you I'm a busy person with a life, but keep thinking that your pathetic attempts at attacking me make your "arguments" any more relevant or not entirely rendered moot already by multiple people.
I know the solution for this, and fixed.

FFXI now is taking the ragnarok online route of 2012 Ragnarok, its all Botted and rmt thats why its better If they make FFXI free @ 2020 and make Legacy servers, sure they might Bott nm's and what not, Specially SKY but it will take much more time to make gill. Just look how the game is right now Automated botts 24/7 on Campigns, People who dont know how to play their jobs run Automated Lua's, why not just play a mobile game? i know most of you will hate me for saying this but the current game is really trash Delve era was much better.

That they're going to be completely hands off and just let Ambuscade and Campaigns be on a set cycle and it will take a while before people even notice. Then it will get stale and people will move to other things.
Did we conveniently forget that the last two updates have each added a HTBF with new gear? Not exactly the most exciting content - granted. But there's no indication they plan to rely solely on Ambuscade as of yet.
They also did an interview recently where they announced they are working on something larger for the 20th anniversary. I wouldn't be surprised if game goes into auto-pilot after that (unless they can secure further budget).
I kind of get this feeling from the interview they gave recently that the suits at SE said "you've got three years of funding, go out with a bang". They explained in the interview that getting more than 12 months of budget at a time never happens. So if they were green-lighted on a 3 year budget there has to be more to it. There certainly hasn't been a resurgence in subscribers (that we can see) to justify a 3 year budget.

They've got ASA ACP and AMK bosses to redo.
Master trial vs all the ground kings
Master trial with all the wyrms
Master trial vs all the nakuaal (delve bosses whatever theyre called)
Every SOA bc is a possibility.
Prov and doublecats
a dozen ENM
I very much expect a ASA ACP AMK "thing" those are unique fights. never been redone in anyway but easy to do. (amk is a little similar to the ambuscade)

I mean they are MISSION HTB none of them have drops. waking the beast the only one that had drops at all (unless you count odin as einherjar instead of avatar*) Avatars/DM have rewards (drops).

As someone saying they are quitting FFXI for WoW Classic it is surprising to see you defend SE and the current state of FFXI.
The current state of FFXI is indefensible, but it's understandable given the reduced budget available to the FFXI operations team.
I'll be surprised if FFXI ends up the same way the mobile game did. The last time Square Enix decided to stop creating new content (in terms of expansions and major updates) - they were blunt and clear about it. What makes you think they won't be honest next time?
