Latest outrage is that Mike Pence is staying at a Trump resort or something.
Latest outrage is people blaming the hurricanes on Trump. Not the aid or the response, but the actual hurricane.

Take THAT Blumpf!

Honestly the government has no business being involved in yours or my healthcare.

It should be just you and your doctor.

It's crazy to think that the federal government can take over an entire industry.
Oh, so the government should stop subsiding drug R&D?

The last thing we need is more bureaucrats

Don't tell that to a bureaucrat Fone.

A large majority of non gun owners might want UBCs. Tell a gun owner that leans to the UBCs, what a UBC really does and they tend to think differently.

Don't know where you got you "Majority of gun owners" part, but I sit monthly with many gun owners who oppose UBCs. Ones that do, don't tend to know the details of what it entails. I know even liberal gun owners that are against UBCs.

Last I checked, failing a NICS background check was prosecuteable. It's a felony to lie on the NICS check. Why wasn't he prosecuted? We already have another law for that Chanti? Why didn't the police go to him then and arrest him and put him in jail? Why make another law punishing lawful gun owners? Your side cries for stuff that won't do a damn thing. How bout enforce the current gun laws? Tell that messiah of ya'lls, Beto, to go flail his arms at the police, not gun owners.

Fun Fact: I Myself would not be opposed to a BAN on personal sales of firearms. Like a sale from me to Fone or whatever. I disagree with it on HOW it would be enforced and the PRINCIPAL of someone telling me what to do with my property, but more or less ok with it since, I don't plan on selling my firearms and I ALWAYS go thru a Background check when buying my guns.

For the record, do you agree with the Act Elizabeth Warren proposed? I quoted it and provided a source on the previous page.

I don't think its a felony to fail a background check as long as you are truthful on the application.

Well I did say to purposefully lie, but yes, false failures on NICS checks can be fixed.

Which begs the question, why didn't the police look into it? Perhaps he knew or didn't know that he was banned from having firearms. Police could have looked into that.

He failed the check in 2014, according to AP.

Anything stating that the police checked on him since he failed the check?

They should have followed up. Chance he could have NOT known about his mental condition, but police should have checked. Maybe taken him at his word, but at least they would have done the effort. That is, until police they say they DID go to him and check it.

Skull, I got that from polls which consistently put general acceptance for UBCs at well over 70% and among gun owners at over 60%.

For perspective a lifelong best friend is a second amendment fundamentalist and is against UBCs and red flag laws. So I am familiar with the anti arguments.

I am not familiar with Warren's proposal despite your noble attempt to educate us on it.

I respectfully disagree with that and or those polls. Like who are they polling, Canadians???

I don't know what you mean by "followed up?" As far as we know, this was just a normal guy living his life. How were the cops gonna justify checking on him?

Even if they did, that was 5 years ago. I'm not sure what the proper procedures are after a person fails the check, other than not being able to purchase the firearm at that time.

There is a part on that document that you sign, that basically says everything is correct and lying is a felony. Fair nuff he MAY not have been lying. But after it failed, 5 years ago, they SHOULD have looked into it then. We have local police, and two federal agencies that can look into this. Why don't they?

Would you like me to link a PDF of the paperwork filled out for the NICS?
