Deny slowly loses her mind.

Basically the writers spent years building up this character as a super liberator who we all cheered for, and are now tearing her down and showing that she's actually worse then the mad king. It's going to be the season 1 finale all over again complete with gut punch.

I don't think Dany's fall from grace was as sudden as many do, or at least I used to until I listened to the writers at the BTS segment for the last episode.

The way I saw it was that ever since arriving at Westeros, Dany has dealt with conflict and more importantly betrayal from those closest too her. Tyrion betrayed her early by putting his desires to preserve his family above hers. Then Cersei betrayed her by abandoning her pledge to help fight the dead. Then Sansa and Arya betrayed her by discounting her sacrifices at Winterfell, then Varys, then ultimately Jon betrays her love cause he's wrestling with this whole incest thing. She feels isolated and alone and sees herself as having no other recourse but to do something that makes everyone take her seriously. She even says it when she says "let it be fear" in the 5th episode before the fight. To me that makes plenty of sense. It could have been better executed, but it really wasn't that rushed.

That was until I saw the BTS where dumb and dumber basically say she just snaps in the moments after the bells toll. How horribly idiotic, and to think these *** have been recruited to plan a new star wars trilogy.
