Regarding loud thugs and 5mil Gil — I got a loud thud on my run and the Gil but got no gear at all... sort of the flip side in which loud thud doesn’t guarantee gear either. Makes me think it is Gil and/or gear with at least one of the two guaranteed but not necessairly both.
just used a venus orb at palborough mines.
I got a simple noise, and the 5M bonus (and a kidney stone). i don't think the noise is related in any way.
First chest, Loud Thud: Bewitched Schaller and Turquoise. ;_;
Second chest was loud thud for me. Gave me 5m gil, a Nisroch Jerkin, Staghorn Coral, and an Eschite Helm.

I just went in at Palborough Mines and watched the lights - it seemed to be flashing around the chests in order, anticlockwise, and not randomly. Maybe it's a reel where you have to miss the loaded bullet by being fast...
Then I went in Walrough Shrine and watched the light pattern and it seemed to flip through them alternating, top row then bottom row one to the right diagonally, etc. Still got Mimic on 1st chest anyway.

Went out there with some buddies to use our orbs. We used around 10 orbs, one Venus and the rest Mars. Notable drops were both on Mars and were Regal Captain's Gloves on a loud thud and a Shamash Robe on a thud.

The amount of Omen drops is absolutely staggering in this event.

That's quite the stretch. People get excited and post because it's 'free' and they never thought they'd get them. If you figure they are ~1% from the bosses, 14 dead servers with approx 12 runs a day, asura and odin probably topping 50 runs a day, you're looking at like 80 bodies a month.
Is it possible more bodies dropped from this than Omen? Sure. We don't really have enough data to say it's fact, though. There is a severe reporting bias, if you look at the posts most of them are by people with 0-10 total posts that literally just signed up to post their body.

in my ls 3 ppl got 4 bodies in a day, you also have to consider that 90% of the players don't write in forums

Went last night with a group of ls peeps.
On my orb, opened 1st chest was a loud thud, exited and got Dagon body. Linkie went next opened a few got loud thud, exited and got Nisroch. Two bodies back to back.
As a linkshell we have been doing omen for over a year and only saw our second body last week (both happened to be Shamash). I am at work atm so don't have the screenshots.
People think the drop rate is huge because a handfull post ss with bodies, what about the other thousands of orbs wasted? getting something good is 1% at best.
