bastok, i still hang out in bastok most of the day. I like its design, feel, color scheme, and all the galkan slaves you can eat.
It doesn't matter, because I'd stay inside my Mog House all day playing FFXI.
So maybe it would have to be a place with Mog Houses. But other than that, just peek out every now and then to pick up groceries from the local AH, then go back to the grind.

San d'Oria has the best grocery store. Save gil off them awful AH prices.

Hey, why not open this up to real estate in other games? Like, what places just "feel like home" when you pass through them in your favorite games? For myself, it'd definitely be Norg and Kahzam in FFXI, but then again I also prefer chilling in Winterhold when it comes to Skyrim. In TF2, I'm split between Teufort and Hightower, the game's real "meme" maps, with Turbine a close second.

I wouldn't mind living in Eastern Adoulin, or Reisenjima (before the Cloud of Darkness).
Eastern Adoulin has far less traffic than it's Western counterpart, but still had access to much needed shops and ferries to the battle areas. I could buy an house or appartment and quietly distance myself from others while having a nice view of the harbor. I suppose a downside is that all of the "battle" country side is full of uncolonized lands that would be a pain to crawl through, but assuming the waypoints work it shouldn't be too bad.
Involving Reisenjima. From the lore, the area worked as a shrine/small town of peaceful existence. So I would enjoy living there, at least until the Cloud of Darkness inevitably kills me.
