I don't normally use the word hero that much...but OP you are the hero FFXIAH needs.
Just going to wait until a few months when one of these threads haven't had a post in 90 days, then necro the hell out of one to say my ranking and achievements aren't showing up.

So, first and foremost. To be ranked, you would've needed to make things public on the linkshell community. If you haven't, you no longer can. You would need to link that account to guildwork via the website or the plugin for it to be updated.
In terms of people disappearing, are these people making purchases on the auction house? It has been said that this is a requirement every 30 days. Not 100% sure how true that is but I applied it to the people I personally know that dropped from the rankings and it seems to mesh.

I'd love to see if these threads pop up more during double accolades months, with people abusing the hell out of it and getting new shinies when they finally can afford one.

I am not particularly interested in the rankings -- mainly because it is rather meaningless when it involves only a small fraction of the actual playing population. For example, I would imagine that the majority of the non-NA population is not included.
That said, I find it curious that GW can push equipment and even titles, yet is unable to determine mission progress. Is it not possible to read that data from packet info? If the FFXI client knows mission progress, why (from a technical point of view) can this info not be forwarded to GW and/or FFXIAH?
(Sorry for the necro, but I am genuinely curious.)
