Good news: Durant isn't on the Thunder anymore Bad news: He left them to go to the Warriors, who have essentially traded Harrison "2-14 in Finals Game 5" Barnes for Kevin "Holy ***" Durant So, good luck with that Is it October yet?

I was going to be super disappointed if we had lost or gotten rid of Steven Adams. Wasn't happy to see Waiters go but glad Westbrook is staying.
Hope we're in for a good season. Also, I heard of rumors that Derek Fisher was thinking about coming out of retirement. GSW didn't need Durant. But I'm not exactly broken up about his departure.

Aroldis Chapman blowing a save is just so, so delicious.
He'll just get the win instead.... still delicious?
My World Series Experience:
Got a ticket to Game 5. Wore two layers, stuck my phone, my ticket, my ID, and 100 bucks inside my inner pockets. Emptied my wallet of everything. Stuck it in my back pocket. Got pickpocketed on the L. Guy got an empty wallet. Sucker. Got to the stadium. Got to my seat. Never sat in it. Bought a beer. Watched Cleveland take the lead. Bought another beer. Watched Kris Bryant hit one out. Tie game. Another beer. Watched us take the lead. Same beer. Watched Chapman come in in the 7th with 1 out and a 1 run lead. Bought a soda. Watched Chapman nail down the save. Died. Revived by many good Samaritans. Somehow got home at 5 am. Missed work, didn't even report. Didn't care. Watched Game 6 on the tv. Euphoria. Many beers. Watched Game 7. Euphoria followed by heartbreak. Many beers. *** you Lebron James. Rain Delay. Watched the Rally. Beer. Watched the first two outs in the bottom of the 10th, followed by a walk. Beer. RBI Single for Cleveland. Heart is racing. Ground out. Cubs win. Euphoria. Disbelief. Fireworks. Screaming. Beer. I haven't been to work since Friday. I hope I still have a job. If not, I am ready to go to Heaven. So I called my boss today, and asked him if I still had a job.
He replied with: "Why wouldn't you have a job? You are on vacation all week." "Oh," I said. "Did I put in for vacation time?" "No. But I gave it to you anyway." "When did you do that?" I asked. "When you won the pennant." "Oh. Well then. Thanks boss! See you Monday." Heaven is very nice right now. Bahamut.Dannyl said: » He'll just get the win instead.... still delicious? Decidedly less so. I'm fine with the Cubs winning, but *** Chapman right in the ear. Shiva.Viciousss said: » So I called my boss today, and asked him if I still had a job. He replied with: "Why wouldn't you have a job? Hey all, check out those Maple Leafs! Yeehaw, Matthews, Marner and Nylander for years to come, good times here. Jays are also tremendous, look at that young, controllable pitching, makes you want to drool. Also, hey Lina nice to see ya.
Chamuzi said: » Hey all, check out those Maple Leafs! Yeehaw, Matthews, Marner and Nylander for years to come I'd make a disparaging comment about how the Pens handled them 4-1 the other night, but one game does not a team make, and the score is not indicative of how well the Leafs played at times, nor of how poorly the Pens played at times. The Leafs, Jets, and Oilers are looking like they could finally make some noise. That's nothing but good news for the league and Canada, as much as I'll miss picking on the perennial basement dwellers. Chamuzi said: » Maple Leafs YouTube Video Placeholder Would that be the Toronto Maple Leafs? The team that has been the worst sports franchise in the world for a few uh...a few decades?

Question for all you sportsball people.
Disclaimer, spectator sports do not interest me but my roomie is a football fan. I read news about sports but not sports news. This year it seems that Monday night and Thursday night football have been moved to the NFL network. The roomie is quite miffy about this. Last year the NFL was worried about declining viewership. The NFL network is $100 / year. To me there seems to be a disconnect here. They are going to loose casual and low income viewers. I know they want to get people to buy the NFL network but I can't see how this move profits them. Unless broadcast Monday night and Thursday night football income REALLY sucked. Can any sportsball fans clue me about this? Offline

Huh, I guess the search engine only searched for the word sports. I blame Kojo for using the dumb name of sportsball.
Ok! Baseball update.
The St. Louis Cardinals (BOOOO) had some players test positive for covid today, and their game has been called off. They have been told, absurdly, that if they don't have anymore positive tests they can play tomorrow. I mean, what? I would expect their opponent to opt out. This brings the total number of teams being infected to 3. All of them have lost at least 1 game, the Miami Marlins are facing many more cancellations. Baseball is not doing it right. They are not in a bubble, they are traveling, not isolating. I don't know what MLB is gonna do, they aren't the NBA, who is doing everything so much better, but its easier to have a basketball complex with multiple courts to play on. Baseball doesn't have that luxury. I would suggest creating a bubble in the Spring Training facilities in Arizona. They are less congested, travel would be much easier, and as I type this I realize the problem. The heat. Its too hot. None of those facilities are enclosed, and you can't play baseball outside in Arizona in August. So honestly, they should probably just cancel the baseball season. Its ok to declare the Cubs the champs. Viciouss said: » Its ok to declare the Cubs the champs.
