The Democrats don't have an ideological position that is at odds with the modern world. I'm not a dem or gop supporter. I like and dislike them equally.

I can tolerate the things I dislike about the Democrates because their policies don't put my life, and that of my children, in danger.

I can't sleep easy at night about the things the republicans are trying to push through because it will mean WWIII, a neo-feudal age of ignorance, "1984", an end to civil liberties and a return to race wars.

WWIII? Just like with the other world wars, I guarantee it won't be the U.S. that starts it, Republican president or not.

Neo-feudalism? Might want to check how well our current Democrat president is doing with narrowing the wealth gap.

1984? Who's advocating for forced equality and speech restriction the most?

End to civil liberties? Remind me which side fights the hardest to preserve the constitution.

Return to race wars? Donald Trump didn't start that. Try looking at our racially-divisive president's rhetoric first.

Your president did quite well considering he was barely able to do anything with the current GOP who tried to stop anything he sets in motion. Back in the day both parties at least came up with things that both sides could work on, but in Obama's last two terms every thing he proposed was attempted to be blocked with a hissy fit by the baby brigade. Why bother trying to improve on stuff when you can throw a tantrum right?

Hell they shut down your government for a while because they didn't get their way. Wonder why that is with only your current President?

I don't want to go into a history lesson here, so lets just look at the most recent example of the Republicans "defending" the constitution; didn't they just threaten to ***-block whoever Obama nominates as a justice in the supreme court? Despite it being the constitutional duty of the executive branch to do such?

Was it Obama that introduced the patriot act? The single worst assault on the american constitution ever.

Joe Biden rule was a democrat push to block supreme court nominees in an election year that actually had the support of then Sen. Obama. Now when it is used against democrats they cry about the same damn thing they did to Bush...... the irony is outstanding

Anyone else notice that all the left leaning people the past page and a half have zero clue wtf they are talking about?

It is pretty damn scary tbh.

I had some rebuttals typed up but.. What good will they do when these people seem to actively try and not understand anything other than their own personal biased rants.

This is exactly why Trump is leading right now, because the right would rather have ANYONE that does not have a (D) behind their name as President. Since you all want to compare Trump to Hitler and Mussolini. If you put them both on a ticket and ran them against a Hillary/Bernie ticket they would probably win in this political climate.

There is nothing unconstitutional about a blanket rejection of whoever Obama nominates. It is Obama's duty to select someone and the Senate's job to say yea or nay. Is what they're doing petty? Absolutely. Welcome to Congress.

As for the Patriot Act, it really doesn't matter who introduced it. Why? Because there was overwhelming bipartisan support for it. Party lines started to divide on the issue long after the fact. If it was just a Republican/Democrat thing the Dems would have done away with it as soon as Obama took office. Instead, Obama keeps extending it. Who seems to be fighting the hardest against it? Republican Rand Paul.

No sense arguing with these people they have zero clue what they are talking about. They would argue that the sun is cold if it fit their agenda.

He does have a point though. People complaining about Republicans doing the exact same thing democrats did and the liberals see no problem with it. It makes me wanna smash things when I read hypocrisy like that. Like do a little research and make sure your party hasn't done exactly what your bitching about the other party doing now.

Very little, if any hypocrisy is coming from the right leaning posters on this site. The left keeps bringing up the same old proven wrong multiple times arguments over and over hoping for a different outcome.

Answering your question. Yes, it sort of is the kind of post I was bitching about. I guess with reading so much hypocrisy, it has rubbed off. Although, it is not near as vulgar as the posts coming from our tolerant left thinking posters.

It is far from the exact same thing. Sure Dems filibustered Alioto, but they had the hearings and eventually approved him.

The GOP refuses to consider any Obama appointee.

Obama REALLY should have made a recess appointment of a fine, but known liberal, jurist, preferably retired.

Lets wait and see if they actually don't hold the hearings. You say the GOP like they all are in lock step, which is far from the case.

If Obama would have made a recess appointment in the brief time that was available, not even before the body was in the ground it would have been political mayhem. Which is exactly why he didn't. He did exactly what anyone with half a brain expected him to do.

They're not all lock step, but doing anything seen as Obama-positive will ruin you. Just ask Christie. He was the darling candidate but after Hurricane Sandy he's done as a popular Republican.

Christie was being asked to run in 2012, a LOT, as the better alternative to the clowns running.

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2014/01/how-chris-christie-lost-his-way/448989/

But then Christie started cozying to the democrats, and you just can't do that with the current Republican party.

If he hadn't become so unpopular in the last couple of years he would've been seen as the "sensible" version of Trump.

And the reason I mention him is because you talk about Republicans not being lockstep behind the party, but if you try to get along with the Democratic party the Republicans will tell you to *** right off and Christie is a prime example of that.

Not being able to work with democrats is FROM the Cruz part of the Republican party. So while R's aren't all lockstep on all issues, when it comes to working with the D's they absolutely are lockstep, and that's from the Tea Party.

That is why I favor Trump, I would consider myself "to the right" but I am far from tea party. I like alot of Trumps positions on things like abortion, Immigration and trade. Only downside I would say about him is he needs to release more info, like economic plan etc.
