This is some poe's law ***. I can't tell if CJ is actually a crazy conspiracy theorist, or just playing one at this point.
I admit elements make sense and are believable to me, but that could be a result of my own confirmation bias.
I know ... knew about some of the stuff in that article before. They got those parts right. I really have to check out the site its posted on and the author's other works.

That's something I don't understand. We have all these clear cut forests already, why aren't we replanting them? It wouldn't even be that hard either. Those places are full of rednecks and they love planting ***. Just give them some saplings and they will do it for free. I know because I've been a part of something like that.

It was way back when I was in the boyscouts and global warming wasn't even a thing. We lined up in pairs, one with a shovel and one with a bag of pine saplings an we worked like an assembly line to replant a hillside with trees. I think people forget that as humans we can basically bend nature to our will however we want. If we want a forest in a place we can make it happen.

But yeah that one style of logging sounds pretty cool. Where they just cut down the smaller ones and leave the older ones to to seed new trees. Lot less work then cutting everything down then replanting it over and over.

This is the difference between the federal government being the steward to the land and private citizens being the stewards. Where I'm from it's almost entirely private citizens owning these lands and there is a huge culture of being a good warden. If a farmer needs to use some land for something, they can just go to the owner directly and "work something out". My state's heavily involved in logging and the paper industry, every time they harvest from an area they always go back and replant after the debris has had time to decay.

CJ and friends are city folk and look down on anyone who works the earth or is from the rural area's.

On the whole, the US has one of the most responsible forestry industries on the planet. What's usually more threatening than logging are issues like invasive species, parasitic infections, and droughts. Water is definitely a major issue in the western US right now, as groundwater reserves in arid parts aren't recharging as quickly as they're being depleted. This is made more complicated since the water flows from north to south through many states and communities, so those downstream can get screwed by those in the north.

Saevel's under the impression that the industry somehow saw the error of its ways on its own and weren't forced into more responsible lumber practices by something that rhymes with government schmegulations.

Them darn city folk! -shakes stick at sky-

So basically you're saying that even though you're the dimmest star in the sky, The Gaussian distribution helps you draw downward-sloping lines.

Couldn't tell yah, but frankly if I drew with my dull crayons I would still be able to draw you at the very top of the Bell Curve.

So, you're saying Altima is average?

I've been too busy harvesting maple syrup to bother with making popcorn.
