I beat you by 4 seconds!
This really ruined my day. Bowie is probably my favourite artist and this makes me extremely sad.
I wish I had the chance to have seen him live, now that is a concert that I'll never be at ._.
You remind me of the babe.
What babe? Ziggy Stardust. Wow, this is terrible. :( the power of voodoo
who do? you do! do what? remind me of the babe ._. :(
I'm completely heartbroken. A legend has left us.

I have a long, long list of favourite Bowie songs, here's one of them.

It's silly, but the first song that always comes to mind is this one:

His new album just dropped on Friday and I strongly recommend picking it up. It's absolutely nothing like most of his famous work, which is just about as David Bowie as it gets.
Has a very dark sort of jazztronica feel to it and while it won't have you singing along in a poppy fashion the way you would to Let's Dance, it's really a worthwhile listen. I had actually just spent all day Friday listening to his catalog after listening to the new album a few times. This was pretty jarring news to wake up to. RIP to one of the few who truly seems to have stayed true to himself throughout his career and wasn't afraid of charting new waters in any genre or medium in which he chose to dabble. The kind of guy where someone could say "did you hear about this completely freaking weird thing he apparently did?" And you'd have to go, "Wait. Did he do that? That doesn't sound possible, but it is David Bowie..." The man was everywhere from pop star to acclaimed stage actor, from children's movies to freaking internet service providing. I'm not sure any celebrity has ever been as successful as Bowie at maintaining a high level of success and visibility while refusing to be defined by past success and actually remaining fairly reclusive. Still sad.
I never thought I could cry for a person I never even knew, but I did get teary eyed this morning watching the news. i'm going to hell. All I thought of was Hideo Kojima and Diamond Dogs when I first heard the news

Got into him when I was 14 through hanging out with older kids at school and also my cousins (remembering them trying to learn Ziggy Stardust on guitar). My friends and I who have movie night every month are having an emergency evening and putting on Labyrinth. His cultural impact was so strong that he has immortalized himself through legacy, so it doesn't really feel like he's gone. I'm ignoring the persons being trollish or those talking bad of his work. To me his music has meant, and still does, a lot; and it doesn't matter what some person(with obvious poor taste)thinks or says, it's not going to be taken away from me.
A good friend of mine (who is 55 and gay) told me about how Bowie was one of those few people that made him feel okay to be different when he was a teenager.

He always played live and never mimes like alot of the untalented pop stars do now, He had so many good songs and was the architect for almost everthing in music that you hear now.

Bowie will always have a special place in my memory. His music played a part in what I can only describe as perhaps the most tribal personal moment of my life. His work was visionary and his influence will maintain for many, many years to come. Michael Jackson was my favorite performing artist; Bowie was my wife's. The loss of each is comparable to me yet discrete.
Bowie lived a life worth celebrating. This makes his loss all the more bittersweet. Rest in peace, good Sir. Been spending most the day listening to his music.. as much as I'm going to miss hearing new stuff from him, he left his mark on the world, and it will always be here even if he's not,
I thought this was nice.
