Beastmaster Versus Blue Mage

Time to heat up the forum and luring a certain someone into this discussions.

After another indirect nerf to bstmaster (revitalers changing to instant use) I would like to evaluate bst effectiveness versus a blue Mage.

Blue Mage is harder to get into and requires more time and commitment but the rewards are more rewarding at the end. Bst is Easier to get into. However the effectiveness caps at a certain high point.

I play both bst and blue and currently favors blue as its more fun and far superior then bst. On bst With cor roll and geo debuffs on mobs I was seeing 5-10 k (from memory) razor fang on T1 reisenjima NMs. I am a 1400 JP bst with pretty much close to max augments (tp bonus +940 on gear). On blue with hunter roll Sam roll and geo buffs debuffs I was seeing 5-17k CDC less then 10 secs apart with skillchain damage as well. I wield double nibiri with good gear but no where close to max gears. Jp was 600.

From my example my current slightly above average blue is already better then my closer to max bst. When I get to 1200 Jp and above , getting a colada and a few other gear upgrades and Blues danage should be 2X better.

In conclusion if people have time and commitment and wants to be the best go for blue if just returning and wants to do things quick go for bst. Both are excellent choices.

Yes, Blu is amazing!

Can customize about anything, tank, cleave, CDC till your heart explodes, for sure the best job in the game no matter if your a starter blu or veteran you will out damage everything soon enough.

Bst got nerfed so many times it's just a shadow of a job now. If for some pathetic reason you ever play it /blu for sure.

Thankfully blu is still soo amazing and fun, and can solo almost anything!!! and great for silt and farming dynamis and omg CDC is so great you don't even need to concentrate on any spells or those pesky JA's, just CDC and watch every mob melt!

And blu looks so cool, and you can use the same swords as your pld, cause lots of blu's are also pld's!

In conclusion no matter what job you like or hate, you should play blu, it's so freakin strong right now and just keeps getting better with more JP's! Only try to play blu if your really smart though. AND it's really cheap to play blu!!! unlike bst you where you have to buy some pets off the AH for hundreds of thousands, just to watch them die.
