You are never going to use a gun to standup to tyrants in your life. No, there is no conflict. As for your opinion (in bold), it's irrelevant, and unsubstantiated. There is a conflict. The ratio of tyrants dying to innocent people dying so you can have all the guns you want is almost incalculable and imbalanced. No death of a tyrant can be worth the countless years of shootings in this country. There shouldn't have been a Columbine. There shouldn't have been a Newtown, and many of these shootings would be preventable with more sensible laws. 100 million people who died at the hands of tyrants in the last 200 years would probably disagree with you. They're saying 14 wounded 14 dead but not 100% at the moment

In order to make sense you should make it about Merkel's Germany, not Hitler's. USA is not rounding up people to send to concentration camps(unless you're into the FEMA conspiracy then carry on). Go ahead. Tell me where the 2nd amendment is ever going to see the light of day against this government anytime soon in some revolution. This is silly, and the right is getting less and less reasonable in the face of the cost. Woa there, please tell me how a law would stop non law abiding peaople from doing w/e they feel like? The next war we fight will not be fought by our military. Everyone will be a target. Everyone will be a soldier.

They didn't think anything of it and figured they would one day return to their lives as they were moved to ghettos. They would have lost all their guns like they lost their other possessions. The citizens didn't know, believe, or care. By the time you actually had Jewish insurrection it was too late. We have this love affair with the idea that with guns we can prevent things like the Holocaust from happening. No, if Germans had the same gun rights as Americans then the Holocaust still would have happened. Syrians are better prepared to fight their tyrannical government without a second amendment than Americans are. If you really think having a gun makes you defenseless I would bet you've never fired one. Readily available guns means readily available mass shootings. If we haven't already figured that out. People get hung up on "well they are breaking the law anyway" and miss the picture. as long as people are living as they do on this earth they will continue to kill each other guns or no guns will not change this. be it mass shootings, mass stabbings or bombings nothing you can do in the form of a law will change people wanting to murder others. It will never stop but you can drastically lower the amount and that is worth it. It works fairly well over here, we do have gun violence in Europe but we do not have these big mass shootings outside of terrorist attacks.
It changes that there's no mass, just isolated cases(99% of which domestic or caused by driving).
Why have laws? People just break them anyway. Ok.

You mean we are all going to move to the Middle East for the next war? What is more likely? Some mass rebellion by Americans because Hilary wins (didn't happen for the first black "Muslim socialist dictator" president we had!) or we have a terrorist attack and go to war again? War has already been declared against America. Like it or not you are in one. It is chilling the way liberals practically celebrate every time someone is shot. Unless the shooter is Muslim of course.
Of course little is known about the team of shooters today. I suspect if it turns out they were Muslims that is the last we will hear about it. Phoenix.Amandarius said: » It is chilling the way liberals practically celebrate every time someone is shot. Unless the shooter is Muslim of course. Just what Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Why have laws? Cause it went from "there's a war in America" to this weird spiral. Can't be real. Bismarck.Dracondria said: » It will never stop but you can drastically lower the amount and that is worth it. Blah blah Excuse me for my massive eyeroll. The same people touting this logic are the same people who jumps to compare us to communist countries a century ago. It's disingenuous and intellectually lazy, done out of political convenience. |
