Never said to give them the cold shoulder. So many things we could do other than bring possible risk to our country. Instead of being a bleeding heart why not try and find a way to relive their suffering everyone can agree upon?

Oh by all means please suggest a way.

I'm not the bleeding heart. Could start with safe zones within their own country though.
you've already bombed their country into rubble, it's not livable.

next idea.

Predictable jump to blame America

you're right I should have said, "their country has already been bombed into rubble." to be more sensitive and proper; I didn't think you'd care about that.

Takes a reasonable person to know one. No wonder Alti doesn't think anyone is reasonable.

Point out a post that I am not being reasonable.

Don't be one then.

Fairly certain this is considered harassment.

You were banned before, yes?

I was banned because a mod ninja-edited my post and I called him on it and his biased behavior. Not for breaking any rules.

We were stepping in the right direction before Obama stepped in and ruined everything with his disastrous foreign policy.

Most of the attackers have been identified as European citizens meaning they could have relatively unfettered access to America. Meanwhile, the refugees we're talking about are scrutinized to the greatest degree of any other kind. There's much greater uncertainty associated with the former than the latter or hell even a greater uncertainty about Islamic terrorists or terrorist sympathizers being recruited from within the U.S.

So the threat to national security that Republicans want to limit the most is the one threat we potentially have the highest amount of control over? Is the simple fact that we're never 100% protected from these kind of senseless acts just that overbearing that the nearest scapegoat becomes the focus of unreasonable fears?

The "might as well lock the thread this is hopeless with no chance of a real dialogue" effect?

I've actually tried real dialogue with you a few times but you keep flailing around it.

Maybe you should ask another website for refuge since you're obviously a victim of persecution.

They both have made mistakes, however Bush just made more of them that brought us towards our current situation.

Do you consider this incorrect?

Yes, Terrorism was around before Bush. You guys act as if he created it. Obama pulled out of Iraq and numerous other horrible decisions that have led us down this rabbit hole.

I have yet to see anyone put forward evidence based reasoning as to why our current refugee program is inadequate, much less in need of being halted. I know we aren't going to see said reasoning, but its amusing to watch both the conservatives on this site and on Capitol Hill pretend like there is a problem. Like I said on the first page, I am much more willing to talk about why our visa waiver program is a problem rather than our refugee system.
