Anna Ruthven said: » Does XL and XS mean anything? I've noticed this. At first I thought it was in order to obtain certain medals (for instance, catching 3 rattata over a certain weight). It could be for this reason, or it could be just a cool little trait that adds a neat little feature to the game. I have noticed, thought completely anecdotal, that my XS pokemon have unusually higher CP than the average or larger sized ones. I can't prove this, and I'm sure some would find XL ones with larger stats (which would ordinarily make sense). But it could affect their stats/catch difficulty/rarity etc I hatched a normie size Charmander and an XL Charmander was my started so, kinda holding on to both till I know which is better.
I'd be willing to believe Nintendo didn't just arbitrarily toss that into the game and that it possibly does have an affect on stats.
Would be funny if later on, we learned that XS/XL gave different movesets or the cap on stats were higher per. I transferred so many damn pokemon at this point, but good to know sooner than later. How do you get eggs to hatch? And do pokemon have the same 4 move limitation as the old games?

From what I've understood from people I talk to: XS: Higher hp, lower CP Normal: average XL: Lower hp, higher CP Grumpy Cat said: » To hatch the eggs you gotta put them in an incubator and then walk while they are in them. Driving does not hatch eggs considerably faster than walking. Evidently, there is an algorithm that causes the game to not count steps if you're travelling over a certain speed. Tested this by driving to/from work and checking before/after I arrived. It appeared to not track my distance when I travelled on main roads of 50mph, but the smaller areas close to my job it must have, since its sitting at 1.8km (and I have had eggs in an incubator for about 3 days). Bike riding seems to work well, though. Keep in mind that the game automatically gives you 1 unlimited-use egg incubator. The others you either have to find or buy (which break after 3 uses). One of these days im expecting to hatch like 11 new pokemon. Should be fun. Nothing like the Microwave one though. hahaha I have considered taping my phone to one of my cats.
Yeah rule of thumb: If you have to cheat, circumvent, or otherwise get around the game's mechanics to progress, you shouldn't be playing. Kind of takes the fun out of the actual game.
And yes, super laziness. Game is meant to walk with. Leave it to lazy people to find a way to NOT do what the game requires. The other day I went to go hunt pokemon and my game desynced when I was about 500 feet from my house. I stood still for 5 minutes relogging in etc and finally said fk it and out of anger went for a 20 minute walk anyway with no game. I think the game kinda owes me 20 minutes of walking worth of cheating at this point. Servers and connectivity seem far more stable from tjat last game update.

This happens to me pretty frequently when I walk out of range of my wifi and the phone switches over to cellular data. I started waiting until I was far enough away before launching the app, which seems to help a bit. Haven't played enough yet to decide if that's a coincidence or not lol Servers do seem better but now this 3 "Foot" bug makes it almost useless xD Now its almost impossible to track stuff down.
Asura.Thorva said: » Surprising. I only ever saw one geodude here. Got plenty of drowzees and venonats though... I have heard that 3 footed pokemon are likely not worth your time hunting down, unless its REALLY rare type. This is because Pokémon tend to despawn and reappear somewhere else every 5-15 minutes or so. 3 footprints means they are like 200 meters away, but you have no idea which direction they are in. You also don't know when they spawned. So you could potentially waste a lot of time trying to track down a pokemon that could soon despawn very quickly.
1-2 footed pokemon are much easier to track, by using the 10 step method. |
