This is the lockstyle I typically use on Puppetmaster.
Dampening Tam, Samnuha Coat, Samnuha Tights, Boii Mufflers, Boii Calligae, Denouements.

So, figured out that there's a trick to hide your shield using Lockstyle:
1) In the Equip Set, leave the sub slot blank (not the red X). The option "Keep the same piece" does this.
2) Equip a 2-handed weapon and a grip. The grip is what makes this work.
3) Activate Lockstyle for that set.
4) Change weapons to the 1-handed and shield. The shield should be invisible.
I don't have any shield skill so I don't know what it looks like when you block, but I presume you just stick your arm out as if you did have a shield.
