A major problem with a lot of the bigger monster types is the issues they would have in confined areas.

We have enough problems with pets getting stuck on terrain already, imagine the issues some of these bigger pets would have.

They shrunk the wyrm model for Nauls in Abysea Tahrongi

your concerns have an easy solution.

One benefit would be longer range though...

not sure bigger pets would have more of the stuck problem though. Always seemed more of an AI getting confused more than anything and the outer parts of npcs/monsters clip thru solid objects all the time

This update means unleash shouldn't be animation locked anymore, correct? Assuming that's correct and with Siren's magic shield that SMN got, the two should pair together quite nicely imo. Thoughts?

I expect no difference for unleash. This is just a reversion if part of the bst update from January

Really? From the sound of the original update notes it seemed like they were reducing animation time, but I could be wrong.

The painful view of the ready moves being adjusted again is just awful. Seeing the rabbit's TP moves hang for a second before doing them is *** bad.

Do we know that some pet ready moves were increased from 30 frames to 60 frames? That sounds like an unintended side effect (?)

How about you take an axe and spam 40k Decimations while self buffing your attack to pdif cap? Doing overall several times more damage than SMN? (outside of SP)

For BST, master is the one doing damage, while pet is support (unless you aoE trash, then pet is doing all the work and much better than SMN's avatar)
For SMN, avatar is the one doing damage, while master is support

Stop compering BST's pet damage to SMN's avatar damage. To buff jug pet to power of avatar, you would need to nerf BST own damage by a LOT.

If you dont like this approach for BST, then play other job or something and keep writing on official forum to completely rework BST job, but stop crying about jug pets damage in current BST iteration.

Simon, please don't start. He's referring to the two JOKE pets we got in November as a "job adjustment". Summoner still has equal access to all of their avatars and BSTs pets are mostly below 119.

No one's comparing apples to oranges here, just stating the obvious lack of effort SE put into BST in November.

You do realize this comes at a huge defensive penalty? The comparison is not the same: SMN busting out 40k damage from range vs BST doing it up close with a -50% defensive hit, ultimately risking potential death.

Also, he was being sarcastic and not crying.

I really don't know. Either way when you used Foot Kick or Whirl Claws before the previous two changes the moves were instant. Now it's actually *** hanging there for a good almost 2 seconds before they fire off.

That would have made entirely too much sense. Many people did suggest that as a change almost immediately after. Given the fact that they made the change with the purpose of "removing the need for ready equipment", it would have just been an easy fix. Just SE being SE

Watch them have accidentally done the 75f patch by accident. (75f is ~1.25s, the same as all SMN BPs are. They mentioned that they would bump it up to this if the 60f were unsatisfactory.)
I could easily see them whipping up both txt files in less than 10min and then the day of the update they put in the wrong one. (We've all been there.)

That's true, but the fix was mainly to fix not Ready equipment, but Ready weapon. Switching weapon was totally against their logic that BST should fight with it's pet. It destroy your aftermaths and reset TP, so it was VERY bad. Legs swap is much less a problem and they even probably forgot that Dessulator's with Ready exist, so they wanted to make it even better and shortened readies timer, but they broke Dessulator's. So they made a fix (very fast too!) that lets you use your Dessulators now. It's not a nerf, but a fix and people like Snk seems to completely don't understand that and even cry in SMN thread about it.

If that's the case JP BSTs will cry again and it will be fixed I bet. So far tho, I only see one person crying about it in few threads.

Yeah I also udnderstand that BST can keep doing that against "real" content, while avatar will struggle a lot.

BST has also total enmity shift to pet (on very low cooldown), so outside of being hit with AoE (and only physical ones being a problem and you have shadows), you will never pull hate in group content.

Wild Carrot is still instant.
Only the offensive ready moves had their timing reverted.

It was either that or give us a different form of ready recast reduction (ie more points form merits or change the 1200 jp gift to anohter 5s reduction)

SE opted for reverting it because thats what players knee-jerk reaction was.

You are right that instant tail blow is really nice for stun though.

Just like the January update did NOT help Unleash damage, this change also does NOT help or hurt it.

Even though ready moves were activating more quickly, the timing for unleash did not change because you cannot reuse it during unleash until the animation lock ends. This is the limiting factor, and it never changed.

Nobody is denying that BST can contribute in group content (SMN can too, have seen it perform very well in Wave3 dynamis boss), so I don't want to go into that debate. I don;t think the serious complaints from people are about BST itself (we love the job), but moreso with SE's inability to address core issues with the job when players make nothing but valid points about it. Their stubbornness makes people a little bitter, and you can't blame them.

The joke with BST above was that BST got 2 new pets that are cute and niche, and SMN get a new BP/AFAC abuse tool, and can also provide SBII and high potency slow elegy etc. It's tongue-in-cheek remark, but it illustrates SE's disdain for the BST job in general. Players will always find a way to play BST in spite of all of that, but that just makes people feel SE has no true understanding of BST.

If SE knew what they were doing, they'd give us Feral Howl and Killer Instinct by default, and the Merit Categories would be an augment (nothing major, as Killer Instinct is already very situational).
