I just finished RP'ing my nyame gear to r25 with zee slug and want to move onto other NMs. Is Ngai/Kalunga viable this way as well or should i start thinking about doing 1hrs on pup? (I'm solo and no multibox chars available)
You can land ooze on the dinosaur, don't think Ngai is easy outside of aura. Don't think I've ever heard of anybody loading it on him, but you should be good with Kalunga. Just activate the Tandem Strike, "Run Wild"(?), Etc. Should land in 1-3 uses
( unrelated side note, BST absolutely should have been on Sakpata's set)

Nukumi Cabasset +2 (Monster Correlation effects +26)
The Pet:Accuracy and Pet:Attack bonuses from favorable Monster Correlation are not visible with /checkparam.
Level 99 SwoopingZhivago vs Level 123 Lentic Toads
Pet Accuracy Bonus Test:
Pet:Accuracy+26 (Hit Rate+13%)
With the added Pet:Accuracy+51 on this piece, this is equivalent to Pet:Accuracy+77 anytime Monster Correlation is favorable.
Pet Attack Bonus Test:
Pet:Attack+26% (845 x 1.26 = 1064.7)

I would speculate that it also offers 26 Macc for pet, but hard to verify.
I don't think it affects magic damage but I don't remember.

what's the best body for physical pet moves aside from path d nyame? gleti's or nyame just for the acc? didn't see anything with attack but could have easily have overlooked something.
Augmented Valorous or emicho haubert +1 if you don't need the accuracy.

any fans of offhand ikenga's axe? seems like it'd pair really well with guttler for some much needed attack. i'm lucky to have crepuscular knife but would def consider swapping once ikenga is r25. don't have aymur yet so i usually defualt to r15 guttler main, though for segments i would suck it up and do naegling/fernagu
side question, i assume slug is more beneficial to party than sheep berserk for ody C? came in last using guttler only between drk cor brd bst for dps but happy to be utility if it helps the group
Problem with slug in segments is that Ooze is conal, so it takes too much time to position imo. You are better with self buffing probably.

We were talking about Rage from Sheep the other day. It's dangerous to use, but probably fun with Dolichenus if you're careful. I'd probably settle for the Lynx to be safe if it was only about self-attack, but if you can get the Slug out to use Ooze for every group, it's a nice added utility that benefits everyone, which I think is better overall. Even if it wakes everything it hits, it's still a bonus because everything gets hit with a large attack and defense down. You'd probably want to time it just after your tank gathers everything, but before they are all slept, so that might be tricky.

Are you sure? I don't remember Corrosive Ooze being conal when I used BST in segs. Maybe thinking Purulent Ooze?

IMO one of the biggest limitations on BST performance in segments is having to manually sic your pet. Just doesn't work well for such a fast-paced event. If they didn't have to do that, BST could make solid use of Kraken Club with Tandem Strike's accuracy.

agreed, but you only need to sic once per pack so it isn't too bad
Yeah, but you do have to do /fight on every single monster, which does take away from DPS as Disclai mentioned. Using Sic may hit all enemies and keep your pet engaged, but your pet will randomly target and attack whichever enemy gains the higher enmity vs your pet. This actually invalidates Tandem Strike, since you both need to be targeting the same monster to get the accurayc bonus. It's actually quite annoying having to start every new monster with /fight, and I agree, BST is kind of not really well served for Seg Farming. It also doesn't help that the damage is just average.
It would be nice if they created a command or job ability where your pet focuses on only the monster you're fighting, regardless of whatever else is hitting it. That would guarantee you always get Tandem bonuses when there are multiple monsters on screen, without having to /fight every single time.

Except you dont need to /fight every single time, because Tandem is irrelevant. First of all bis ML40 BST can cap accuracy with Kraken club with just grape Daifuku and Marcato Honor March on C1-3 and with SV Honor at C4. That's irrelevant too tho, because using Ooze means you can drop MinuetIII entirely and use Blade Madrigal and you are accuracy capped even without MLs then.
It's obviously even easier with TP bonus axe, since it has like 80+ accuracy more than Kraken Club, so it doesn't even need Blade Madrigal or Marcato on Honor March.
EDIT:
It also doesn't help that the damage is just average.
Using KC with Decimation you can kill everything with 2WS at 1000TP (one WS with lucky multi proc or if someone already hit it). 2WS seems like a lot, but with Kraken offhand WS frequency is off the charts. You can also one shot mobs at C1-2 with Savage with Fernagu offhand or tp overflow with KC offhand. I guess you could also probably one shot C3 and maybe C4 if it's anything covered by Killer effects, so empy +2 body would add 10% damage from augment and for sure birds with Killer Instinct up from Slug (you would have like +34% damage against them).
Not to mention how much damage you add to the party with Ooze letting many jobs cap attack and probably add some PDL to their sets too.
By SimonSes 2022-09-09 06:00:04
Cloudx2 for self light would probably be best for anything that doesn't cut lightning damage, otherwise Evisceration. Cloud can be done with Fernagu offhand, but Evisceration is probably much better with KC offhand for frequency. BST has access to Gleti and Tauret, so Evisceration should be decent enough to two shot (maybe not Lamia, unless with holy circle maybe and using empy+2 body then).
By SimonSes 2022-09-09 06:56:07
bst isn't on gleti's knife sadly, would be tauret/crepuscular or tauret/ikenga axe
Well yeah, KC is best. Crepuscular would probably be second best or maybe 2-4 Fernagu :)

That's good information. Much of what you said though depends on having an established group that is aware of what BST will be doing. BST can't be included in many groups without adjustments, because Ooze wakes everything up, so if you run with a group that doesn't have a tank, it could be problematic. Also, disregarding Tandem Strike is only possible in this kind of established/knowledgeable group if the Bard would knew to give everyone Blade Madrigal instead of the MinuetIII beforehand. I'm sure it's a decent job when you can plan it out accordingly with everything fixed with the BST's slug in mind.
I played it last night in a Sheol A run (so I had significantly less accuracy issues), and I still only parsed a .1% over the COR, and it was still under 20% damage overall comparably. Could be lag. Could be optimization improvements I need to make. But I stand by the comment that BST dps is just alright, nothing crazy. It's more of the allure of getting to play BST and change of pace, which I can understand.
Fernagu is the TP bonus one. The 2-4 axe has almost 60 more delay, feels a lot slower DWing certain axes. At that point, I'd just use Blurred Knife +1 or Ternion Dagger +1 or something in a MA set.

By the way, what set are people using with the OHs mentioned? I was mostly using malignance and accuracy everywhere else.

But using what Naegling/Fernagu? Using empy+2 body? Doing just Ready or sending pet at every mob?

For KC Malignance 5/5, +2 neck, chirich x2, Eabani earring, Crepuscular earring, reiki, sto cape, voluspa ammo. You can get more acc by going with DW cape, olseni belt and odr nukumi+1 or +2 earring if that's necessary. I don't have asap answer for Fernagu offhand tho. Would need to think about it.
Edit: I guess for Fernagu I would switch at least one ring to Gere, Crepuscular to Telos, Body to Gleti R25. Cape to DA. Ammo to Coiste Bodhar. Something like that.

By SimonSes 2022-09-09 09:50:37
Oh yeah Sherida not Telos for Fernagu for sure.
By phunky 2022-09-09 09:58:10
If you're not running K-club or Aymur you'll need to start swapping out more malignance pieces for Multi attack.
You can swap out hands for for emicho +1, swap your eabani for a suppa and use sailfi belt +1 or windbuffet +1. Cape to DA if you don't already have it.
Body - Gleti's or Tali'ah
Legs - Meg. Chausses +2
Feet - Nukumi +2
Head - Crepuscular helm
Don't have to make all swaps but those are your options not including QA augments for valorous. Mix and match until you find your sweet spot.
