I'm trying to get the guildwork plugin to work because of the issues with the LS community, but when the plugin loads it only says "initializing guildwork" and never asks me to log in or anything. no commands seem to work and trying to login does nothing. because of this i can't get my ffxiah profile to be updated either. Is the plugin broken?

(can move this to windower if necessary, wasnt sure what to do with this)

This is like the third or fourth report we've gotten about this. But we're not really sure what's going on. As far as we know everything's fine on our end. It also looks like Stan has updated his copy of the plugin. Everything should be working...

have you tried reloading guildwork or completely unloading and then loading it?

Sometimes I have issues where it doesn't run properly and that's what I do to get it working, if //reload guildwork doesn't work, I do //unload guildwork, //load guildwork.

Have you typed /gw login {email address} {Password}
(In game and yes, with a single slash)

It doesn't hurt to try, if you have it'll just tell you you've already logged in.
But considering you don't get the message "Welcome {Playername}", I think you have yet to do so.

Yes, in spite of the lack of a prompt i tried entering the login command and nothing happened.

I have unloaded and reloaded, ive quit the game switched it on and off with the GUI launcher etc.

Ive even done things I know wont work like typing commands in the windower CLI (but im pretty sure the plugin doesnt have any?)

Is the guildwork client something i need to have running as well (or not running?

I read the instructions on the guildwork site and followed them very carefully- it says to wait for it to ask you to log in, which I do but that never happens. As described I tried logging anyway, nothing happens.

I have used guildwork in the past (years ago and I think i've reinstalled the game since then), are there any files i might need to delete to start fresh? Do I need to open ports on windows firewall? or is it supposed to work as long as the game works?

I'm having the same exact issue too. Reloading/rebooting etc, and nothing worked so far. I've disabled anti-virus and host based firewall etc. Not sure what else I can try. If I delete the two files in the guildwork folder and load the plugin, it downloads the two files again fine. :(

I had this issue aswell. I had initially started playing on another laptop so i went on the older laptop loaded everything as normal.
The command came up on it for me to log in with username and pw. Entered them both then logged off and went back to my newer laptop and everything was working fine after that.

Just adding to list of guildwork issues.

Tried fixes listed in post - can load/unload guildwork fine (message that plugin loaded/unloaded), and says "Initializing Guildwork" but then nothing else happens - no login prompt or any other messages (tried /gw login <email> <pswd>).

Also, dunno if it's related, but cannot access addons in windower gui (list comes up blank) - had to manually download addon files and am able to manually load them in game (lua l scoreboard, etc).

Thanks

I'm having trouble with guildwork as well.

I can unload and load it, and it'll just say "Initializing Guildwork" and it won't ask me to login. And of course no other commands with guildwork will work like /gw flush or anything.

Can you guys try with this version:
https://googledrive.com/host/0B1-GYvFFRpK6WlVQZnBKbzdycTA/Guildwork.dll

If it doesn't work, go into Windower/plugins/settings/Guildwork.xml and add this setting under <global>:
Code
        <Debug>true</Debug>

Then try reloading it again. It should start writing things into the corresponding debug file (Windower/plugins/debug/Guildwork_<date>.log). Anything you can quote from there might help us.

When I add the debug line, the windower console spams "Output file not ready, debug failed", both when loading and unloading guildwork.dll. I figured this might be a permission issue, but I ran windower as administrator. I even tried editing the permissions on the windwower directory and that had no effect.

(Still no dice)

Just adding myself to the list here. I Have had a good amount of tech support from Stan himself. Also my bf and I tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING to get it working. I was mainly frustrated because there seems to be no good reason at all as to why it isn't connecting, a real mystery. Stan thinks it's a windower problem....so just hoping it gets fixed up soon, have faith that someone is working on it! (at least I really hope so, teehee!)

Sorry for the delay, I've been very busy this week (and will keep being that until the start of next week).

Can you please try this file:
https://googledrive.com/host/0B1-GYvFFRpK6WlVQZnBKbzdycTA/Guildwork.dll

And again, remember to set the <Debug> option to "true" (it should not spam errors anymore... hopefully).

I am having the same issue as others in this thread, but managed to get rid of the "debug failed" spam.

I did this by creating an empty "debug" folder in my "plugins" directory (there was previously no such folder).

Here's what I get from a fresh //load guildwork

I have a bit more information which I hope can prove helpful in solving this problem.

I notice the last line of the debug files we posted says a process has been created, but after opening task manager I could not find any such process.

With task manager open, I went into the "gw" folder with Guildwork.exe and opened the file. Sure enough, a process for Guildwork appeared in the task manager window... and then immediately disappeared.

So I think something is causing the process to be killed before it even gets to do anything. But maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

something could be terminating it, but it could also be crashing for some reason. Does it need to have administrator privileges?

I tried running as administrator, as well as disabling my AV and Firewall, but that was all no help.

But yeah, I'm 99% sure this is the problem. Guildwork.dll needs to open Guildwork.exe for Guildwork to run properly. But was soon as it opens Guildwork.exe, something causes it to close/crash.

I tried the following:

- Running Guildwork.exe as administrator
- Manually opening Guildwork.exe
- Disabling anti-virus and firewall
- Deleting and re-downloading Guildwork.dll
- Deleting and re-downloading Guildwork.exe
- Deleting and re-downloading Python27.dll

None of those steps were any help. Guildwork.exe closes about 1 second after it's opened.
