I laughed at this picture if only because most Americans wouldn't give a *** about someone burning a state flag because they don't even know what the state flag looks like.
That's because most Americans aren't as great as Texans are!

Unfortunately, with Texas flag being shown pretty much anywhere and everywhere around the state, there are some people in the state that doesn't know what it looks like.....

...damn infants!

To be honest, most state flags look awful and we should devote state time to re-sdesigning them with all haste.

In good news, the Alaska state flag looks pretty cool. Can we trade that for the junk New York is stuck with?

Apparently the North American Vexillological Association looks highly upon the Texan flag. And on this day I learned what Vexillological means.

1. It has nothing to do with being smarter than religious people or not. There are smart religious individuals just like there are dumb non-religious people. Normal distribution applies (most likely).

2. Why do people protest injustices (according to their personal morals) even though they know others will disagree with them and they may get hurt or die while protesting? Why do people set-up boycott campaigns even though they could come under pressure from family, friends, or work? Why do people confront bullies? Why do whistleblowers exist when they could go to jail or be killed? Why do people disagree with each other when that will lead to arguments and strife?

By taking the "safe" way and refusing to discuss or criticize a religion because of fear of reprisal is to live a cowardly and anxious life. If that is your (general) choice, ok. But you do not get to make that choice for the rest of civilization.

So boycott campaigns, demonstrations and protests are the same as vulgar drawings that grossly misrepresent the subject?

Tell me Kara, were they trying to boycott Islam or the Prophet? Did they intend to create a debate and intellectual discourse through their drawings? Must be a pretty low-set bar.

What kind of conversation would you imagine would arise as a result of those drawings? What exactly, as Muslims, can we say to those drawings? What should we address? I'm VERY curious to hear your opinion on this.

Maybe its just me, but I always thought that the fastest way to exit and end a debate is to start flinging insults and attacks at the other side. Such would/should result in one side exiting the convo or responding in similar fashion.

What...

Re-read what I responded to and my response. Was I implying any of those to examples in this particular situation (I love how you didn't repeat the whistleblower question since it doesn't fit your narrative)? No, I was not.

The question I answered was basically why do or say something that could potentially cause a violent reaction. All of my above examples can do that but people still do them, for a variety of reasons.

As to the rest of your rant:
I think Muslims should learn to take an freaking joke. Maybe learn to laugh or ask why people are poking fun. Example: The Danish cartoons that pissed off the Islamic world was meant to include Muslims in the Danish culture. Danish humor is making fun of friends, if they don't like you they won't poke fun or joke with you.

Obviously based on many previous threads insulting people is ok with you, just not when people insult Islam.

How many times on this website have you referred to women as ***, ***, implied they all be crazy, are less intelligent then men, are good only in the kitchen or bed, or some other crap of I-hate-women-who-don't-want-me-because-feminist? How many times have you and several others on this site bitched about females and made sexist jokes?

You haven't been banned, your life hasn't been threatened, and you are still alive.

If you think the fastest way to exit a debate is to insult someone that must mean you don't debate much because it seems to be your primary debate method when dealing with topics or people you hold in low regard.

One would have to try rather hard to do something both provocative and useless. Humor magazines like Charlie Hebdo are making a statement, though. That it incites anger among the sociopathic or (deliberately) ill-informed is hardly justification to silence that statement.

Because it would incite the same rage from the morons, so why not go for the bigger target? Anyhow, lots of their stuff was aimed at terrorists and their leadership. A quick perusal shows that it wasn't exclusively about Mohamed.

Your question of "why" answers itself. It is because of the "why" that anyone should do anything.

You don't think very well then because you just grouped at least a 5th of the world's inhabitants that are spread across all continents and speak hundreds of different languages. But please continue to see things through your subjective reality and complain when others do the same.

I'm actually happily married and have children. You might be too obtuse to realize that when I go off character and assume the "thug, pimp, playa" tone I am actually poking fun at that kind of man and belittling him. I'm def not pro feminist or a male apologist though. Can you comprehend that I can be a proud hetrosexual male and still be respectful to women without being a feminist cheerboy?

Exiting a debate and ending doesn't mean the exchange ends. It just means it stops being a debate and starts being a come back contest.
I'm also human and can get offended by certain stereotypes that push me buttons which then break open the internal chimp's cage.

Back on topic, those cartoons were aimed at Muslims knowing full well how Muslims would react.

If I call a man a *** it isn't going to have the same effect as calling a woman one.

Call me a *** if you like, but lets have someone call you one and then gauge the reaction. (I'm not calling you one) I'm simply demonstrating that communication of any kind needs to take into account the audience. Those cartoons were aimed at muslims.

What does the west do after the terrorist attack? They publish more of them. There is NO respect. The west does not recognize Islam or Muslims as equals.

They were generally mocking Islam. They mock Judaism, Catholicism, and basically any other religion that has a presence in the mass media. The whole point was deliberately anti-religion.

Even then, one of Charlie Hebdo's covers has a sad, crying Mohamed saying something like (I'm paraphrasing) "It's really hard having these people as followers." If some psychotic cares about a secular humor magazine with a limited readership portraying the Prophet, is that a reason to avoid pointing out that Islam is cheapened by claiming such psychotics within its population?

Relative lack of outrage from who?
The same world that has watched millions of Iraqi and syrians die?
The same world that has watched Israhell annihilate the palestinians?
The same world that allowed the top 1% to shore up 50% of the world's resources and wealth?

Were you expecting no consequences from this upside down world?

People are going to get desensitized. Don't be so naive.

So then we are at war in your head?
Who is we?

I think you're a complete nutter, if that's what you're asking. I know lots of Muslims who are capable of being reasonable right up until someone makes fun of their imaginary friend, but I know lots of Catholics who are the same way, so I just roll my eyes at the lot of you.

Little hint: someone who doesn't share your beliefs and openly mocks them is not voicing an opinion that should have any impact on you. If you really believe what you believe. But you don't, do you?

I believe we shouldn't be provocative/hurt people if it doesn't have any benefit for us and I cannot see any benefit from this for us.
Who is us?

False. I have principles, values and beliefs. You can poke at them as much as you want. But there's a rather large difference between two individuals conversing over something and a public media outlet or publication influencing the public's opinion on matters that will in the medium to long term have tangible and observable implications on a group or groups of people.

I'll take your nutter comment and raise you a "I think you're a total idiot if you can't comprehend that."
