A guy does something like this, he's going to jail for ten years while she'll get a ton of support from groups and counseling agencies. It would make national news and there would be a moment of national sympathy, the NFL might even wear pink shoes or something.

A girl does this, she'll get credit for time served and probation while he gets made into the joke on a SNL skit.

Thanksgiving 2006 a woman was arrested for putting a .380ACP bullet into the back of her husband's head while he was asleep in a recliner.

She claimed domestic abuse for which they've both been arrested for (love Oklahoma's newer domestic abuse laws). She got 10 years and has to do a minimum of 85%.

If the husband had lived, she might have gotten time served (she was in jail for almost two years prior to taking a plea deal).

The north is suppose to be more sophisticated than the south, so I'm interested in seeing if she gets anything more than 5 years suspended sentence and community service, maybe some fines.

On a serious note,
Both the woman in your article, and the guy in mine need jail time.
Hopefully he won't be out for a long time, though she isn't far behind with whatever the hell went through her head, though thankfully she didn't actually kill anyone.

Europe supposedly has better jail systems then ours, so maybe he'll get the help he clearly needs if he found a lone 23yr old (likely half his size) a threat to his masculinity and privilege of harassing other women, in the women's bathroom.

As for her, she's got a lot more problems then just her boyfriend eating ahead of her. Wonder if she has a history of "freaking out" over things and becoming dangerous. She definitely needs some help, but I doubt our system will give her any, it's more centered around imprisonment then therapy and rehabilitation.

So a woman was assaulted and ultimately killed I bet the guy spends his remaining days in prison where as a woman committing the same act would get 5ish years
