You'd think progressive Google could appreciate and sympathize with a man clearly suffering from underdeveloped genitalia. Finding pants that are the appropriate size leg/waist but not too tight in the crotch, or shirts that are the appropriate arm/neck but aren't huge at the waist or bind at the shoulders/upper arm is just stupidly difficult. It's gotten to the point that the last time I went shopping and managed to find clothes that weren't terribly uncomfortable has now made a baseline, and I'll just reorder the same items when the old ones wear out.
Universal sizing sucks butt. It's impossible to find a shirt long enough that doesn't billow out for someone who has a gut much larger than mine, and it's too expensive to sell just tall clothes on their own. Makes shopping for me very frustrating, and everything always costs extra.

I may have fudged my own joke if that's what you were already insinuating. :/ I live in the grey area that exists between 2x-3x. Most 2x stuff fits if it's regular cut, but the "slim fit everything" fad burns me at times. But going to a big and tall shop burns me because...hey, everything here is like 6x and cut for people that are pear-shaped.
Luckily the brands I mentioned before sell well-cut stuff online that fits me better. I'm pretty sure all of my clothes read age 13 or 14 on the tag.

I think everyone can agree to the bolded. Most of us have found something that now efficiently accommodates personal style, size, body-frame. Those particular clothing brands become the standard. The reason why the fashion industry is hooked on size 0 - 2 girls is actually quite simple and practical. The slim to skinny ones have fewer differences in shape. The garments will drape the same no mater which model wears them. What raised my ire to the point of making that pose is calling a 5' 11" size 10 a plus size. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Jetackuu said: » Or just redo the sizes like men's clothes to where it's the size of the clothes, instead of some arbitrary # @OP: didn't you used to do fittings for people or something for a living? So, are you asking the US to start sizing by actual measurements? Is that why you're asking Chanti if she was formerly a seamstress? Jet... Jet... Jet... Do you know how much bitching would come from Americans if they actually had to see their real measurements? UK sizing is arbitrary too, but it's a lot better than US, even though it runs on the 2-4-6-8...scale. Yes, ***'em Bahamut.Kara said: » Ramyrez said: » Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Apparently, men on FFXIAH are fashionistos now, and know everything about womens' sizing. I know the concept of a "size zero" has made me laugh for nearly twenty years. I was a size zero in the US (in most brands, but lets not discuss brand differences), but I'm also short. If your a tall woman it is unrealistic to expect to be that and it has nothing to do with being too fat to wear that size. Women's clothes should really move towards measurements (waist, hip, and leg length) like men's. Page 2: Jetackuu said: » Or just redo the sizes like men's clothes to where it's the size of the clothes, instead of some arbitrary # :P Sounds like I should go back and start fiddling with some back-burner ideas.

I'd call that more attractive than any Size 6 I've seen period. And you don't see a problem with that, do you?

If I remember correctly, a British 6 dress-size is a 2 here, so I guess a size 10 would be a British 14 in the US? /shrug Sizing is whopperjawed. We've covered that though. I've heard planetary alignment plays a huge factor in womens sizing.
