or am I missing something? You're missing Gearswap.
Gearswap handles Instacast perfectly and allows you to midcast stuff even during instacast.
Now we could argue about how useful instacast is if you have 80% capped song casting... and yes, it doesn't really make that much of a difference.
It's almost more useful for the fact you can immediately recast a debuff without waiting a couple of seconds than for the cast itself.
Different story for other mages of course, but you were talking about bard, right?

So is everyone else ready for their skirmish +1 gear to be surpassed and do it all over again?
Dear SE morons,
We are not looking for better gear to surpass what we currently revived 2-4 months ago. We are looking for gear that is not obtainable in 1 days effort. Gear once was something to be proud of and show self accomplishment. Now it's a show of who has more Gil to waste before the next update.

How so? This is about the new skirmishes. Where do you think the new gear is going to come from? When we get the new yorcia I hope you are ready to replace your gear.

If the skirmish trend continues we will see upgraded versions of these weapons. And upgrade to gear. As that was mainly what I was referring to. There is no reason to think SE won't follow skirmishes previous trend.

has anyone tried Keraunos augments? hoping i can drop my eminent pole if there is avatar: mab on it.
Tumafyrig can reach the 115 pet: MAB and comes together with summoning skills and pet: MACC. I would go with that instead skirmish one.
By Pantafernando 2014-08-16 10:32:42
if i have a 119 Nirvana, would that outdo all other options in game for smn since avatar lv+2 and other buffs or would Tumafyrig's MAB be better?

How are people beating the behemoth? It ends up leveling too much to the point that we can't kill it...

On weak Enemies Nirvana can get relativly close to high pet: MAB staves, but as soon as you need some MAcc MAB staves pull further away with every sarificed MAB slot.

To add to this probably sarcastic statement, his "Level up" Is triggered when he uses the "Howl" TP move, rather you can prevent him from howling from back tanking it or something IDK
As far as beating it goes, just stick on Accuracy songs or Hunters roll for Behemoth so as he levels up your accuracy will be over capped for the first few howls, keeping your DPS steady.
I've not had an issue with it, but the DD i go with are generally quite good... So I'm not trying to say "Suck less" in a mean way, but the best answer I can give is better DD... the Behemoth, until we know a way to stop it from using Howl, is just a DPS check to kill it before it becomes too powerful.
(This is of course assuming I haven't missed info on the Behemoth on how to prevent his use of Howl)

You can attack the Skormoth from the sides to reduce the chances of him using Howl - however, it leaves him open to using other abilities, some of which are pretty weak, and others are not.
Ecliptic Meteor can hurt pretty bad.
Wild Horn, not so much.
My group has seen it use Flame Armor as well.
Minimum amount of howls seen has been as low as 2, as high as 10 before it seems to cap out on levels. The more howls it uses, the higher tier Thunder magic it uses.
Starts of with Thunder 4 (pretty weak), then moves onto Thunder 5, Thundaga III, and then Thundaga IV. I suspect it can use Thundaja, but haven't seen it yet.

Oh, I forgot to mention, that the Skormoth can use Thunderbolt as well.
And that it's Flame Armor blaze spikes has done as much as 70 damage per landed hit by the melee DPS, so be wary if using a dual wielding job.

My group found the Gnat to be pretty easy to take down, so you can focus entirely on the Skormoth until it's dead, then swap to the Gnat.
The Gnat's Chainspell is the only thing really dangerous about it, and you can basically Curaga 3+ your way through all that.

Better DD is all well and good and I understand what you mean, but SE has always stated that skirmish is more of a casual event which is why I expected there to be some kind of method to slow down the howl spam.
We've managed to kill all the other NM's that we have encountered and I'm thinking the main reason we were having trouble with the skormoth was that we were using SAM's who were hitting front on for Overwhelm.

is it common to have a floor with all 4 boss pops in Rala Waterways? Probably a glitch.

There are some floors where multiple mist NMs are up, and the objective is to simply kill one of them. I encountered this in Rala. the objective will say something like
"Kill 1 Mist(whatever)"
When I did it, we just killed one a moved up, but personally killing them all is the best idea, more weapons.
