Sounds like you are describing the ACLU....

Except those *** are worthless, chasing anything that they can get angry over and give themselves financial or political relevance by pursuing.

You're kissing face with the Knight Templar trope Ramy. Idealism is prone to quickly becoming well-intentioned extremism.

I'm well aware of that.

Which is why I'm not in the military. It's why I chose to not pursue a career in law or law enforcement. Both were very serious considerations. I actually had the grades and connections to get into one of the military academies.

But honestly, even then I knew that my ideals are too rigid for real-world application.

My wife put it best almost 15 years ago, paraphrasing a line from The Princess Bride:

"You've got an overdeveloped sense of justice; it's going to get you into trouble one day."

So here I am. A dual history/journalism degree later working in the public health field trying to do something good whilst still drawing a fairly substantial paycheck. ^^;

Okay, seriously. The obsession with the word "feel" is reaching epic-level proportions.

We all have feelings. Even when you "make fun of" feels, you're expressing a feel!

You are NOT old.

I am staring 71 in the eyeteeth.

I refuse to admit that I am old.

Older than you oh **** yes.

Old is a number or an attitude. I haven't the attitude. I'm still radical.

If you were drinking at like 10:00 a.m., maybe...it was definitely during the regular work day non-traditional-drinking-time part of the day though.

Colorado Furor Erupts Over Charges Filed, and Not Filed, in Grisly Attack on Pregnant Woman

Quote:
DENVER — It began with what one family called an unimaginable loss: Michelle Wilkins, seven months pregnant and excited about becoming a mother, showed up at the Northern Colorado home of a woman who had posted an online advertisement selling baby clothes. There, the authorities say, the woman beat and choked Ms. Wilkins and cut her fetus from her womb with a kitchen knife.

But after prosecutors announced that they would not file murder charges in the death of the fetus — a girl who would have been named Aurora — a politically tinged furor erupted over how the legal system draws the boundaries between what is life and what is not when pregnant women are victims of a crime.

The Catholic archbishop in Denver called the prosecutor’s decision not to file murder charges a “travesty.” Small protests broke out denouncing the decision. And Republican lawmakers said they would try to pass a law so that someone suspected of causing the death of “an unborn member of the species” could be charged with homicide.

I don't know what's worse; that such a heinous crime needs to carry a murder charge to have any weight or that pro-life opportunists are jumping at a chance to victimize this woman again, turning her ordeal into their own political soapbox.

Possibly:

In non gay pizza news:

http://www.politico.com/story/2015/04/march-2015-unemployment-numbers-116653.html?hp=l3_4

The economy added 126,000 jobs in March, the Labor Department reported Friday, down substantially from February’s increase of 295,000 jobs. Unemployment was 5.5 percent, unchanged from February, and average hourly private-sector earnings were up 7 cents, up from February’s 3-cent increase.

Analysts had predicted the creation of about 247,000 jobs, an unemployment rate of 5.5 percent and an increase in hourly earnings of 0.2 percent, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists.

The number of jobs added in March is lowest since December 2013, when 109,000 jobs were created, and the Labor Department revised down the amount of jobs added in January and February by a combined 69,000.

The jobs report provides further evidence that economic growth has slowed since the end of 2014. March’s deceleration in job growth followed a slowdown in GDP growth during 2014’s fourth quarter to 2.2 percent, compared to an impressive 5 percent in the third quarter. The Atlanta Fed’s GDP Now forecast for GDP growth in the first quarter of 2015 is currently a weak 0.1 percent.
