Those aren't the only meanings to those words, though. There are regional connotations. Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » EDIT: Oh yes "panocha." It's a type of plain bread almost like a roll. However, if used in a vulgar sentence it takes on the meaning of vagina/pussy. This is a good example actually. I was thinking "concha", but it's pretty much the same thing for the word you used. Um, I didn't even mention Antisemitism in that last post.

However, no one ever interprets it as that. It's always interpreted as ***, ***, mother *** or dammit. Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Um, I didn't even mention Antisemitism in that last post. If you fell the need to walk on eggs shells so no one gets offended go for it, nobody's stopping you. The rest of us have better things to worry about that actually matter to the function of society.
Out of curiosity, what may I be offended about? (Note: I am not personally offended (that is, I'm not moved to anger) by the crowd chant, but I can see how someone could be and how an organization would want to distance themselves from that behavior.)

You can't reconcile the other obvious examples of bigotry, can you? It's cool. No one likes holes poked in their "logic". Offline

Remember when being offended wasn't the biggest injustice in the world ? I do.

So what should be done about it, mighty protector of anyone who may get their poor little feelings hurt by the big meanies in the stadium? I'm sure the athletes are wiping away their tears with their giant paychecks after every game.

I'm sure the athletes are wiping away their tears with their giant paychecks after every game. Two weeks of "sensitivity training" They're already taking care of it. I imagine you get told to refrain from calling people *** when you enter the stadium otherwise you get kicked out. A devastating abrogation of freedom, I know, but not hard to do.
That might work for the players, but what about the fans?
Er, the problem was with the fans. Break the rules, forfeit your seat. I'm sure the crowd can come up with some other way to heckle the other team. Something more imaginative than puto.

Or must I continue to be known as the whiney bitchy minority group in America? I just want to go to work and have everyone treat me normal. I don't want no special treatment like I'm handicapped, I just want to be treated like everyone else. But instead I'm being treated like this hypersensitive *** with a stick up their *** that no one can talk to because they are afraid that I'll get offended by the most minuscule thing. Something more imaginative than puto. Lol. I'm pretty sure one of the rules for soccer/football stadiums is "don't try to kill each other", but that's panned out well so far, hasn't it? And when a large section of fans is chanting something offensive, what are they going to do? Kick all of them out? Good luck. Leviathan.Chaosx said: » Cake is too fattening for me, I prefer muffins. Sports fans are dumb motherfucking idiots anyway. Did we insult sports fans yet? We have to do that at least once.
You're right. It's too hard. Why have rules when people just break em anyway?
Cerberus.Pleebo said: » You're right. It's too hard. Why have rules when people just break em anyway? Yeah. Because it's so much better to give security personnel the additional workload of looking out for bad words when they, you know, have a real job to do. But hey, I'm sure it'd be worth the stories of riots and deaths resulting from security trying to enforce stupid rules just so the people at home don't get their panties in a twist. Controlling the crowd IS their job.
Edit: They managed to control a bunch of neo-nazis. I'm betting they can handle some rowdy Mexican and Brazilians. Btw, no one answered me: Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Quote: Keen to prove that homophobia isn’t the only form of bigotry alive and well, both Russia and Croatia are also under fire for fans who brought neo-Nazi and anti-Semitic banners to their matches. Both teams have been penalized in the past for racist and anti-Semitic chants, including “monkey calls.” Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Out of curiosity, what may I be offended about? I forgot in your head it's no different anyway. Good god, you're an expert at missing the point, but at least two people think you made sense. I shouldn't have to elaborate on jack ***since you're apparently willing to take the rest of the article at face value, but here:
FIFA Prepared to Discipline Croatia and Russia Over Fans’ Anti-Semitism Quote: During Croatia’s game against Brazil, fans raised up a banner that portrayed the coat of arms of the country’s fascist regime which collaborated with the Nazis during World War II. The fans’ offensive action was reported to Fifa by the anti-discrimination group known as the Fare Network. Even aside from waving Antisemitic symbols, there was a mention of obvious (to everyone but you) racism, which apparently is not an isolated occurrence. Do you think it is acceptable for FIFA to deal with this behavior? |
