The important word that you glossed over is PROPER. Which was the entire point of my original post. Illegal wasn't even mentioned.. Will you please, for the love of God. Stop Straw Manning.

A government organization endorsing an establishment of religion is highly illegal, which was Rav's analogue to the stupid outrage over that flag. One is your feels and the other is Bill of Rights. What's more egregious to desecrate, the flag or the *** constitution? Do you even bother to read anything before attacking people?

Reread the last few pages. Once you understand the series of events, you can comment further.

Yeah, I wouldn't be saying that to Altima when you apparently don't understand the series of events either.

Cruz has made up ground lately. What are the odds his Florida plan actually works (and doesn't bite him in the *** by handing Trump enough votes to win outright)?

Let's see how it goes. I predicted that he'd make a jump forward after that debate performance. He doesn't even have to win the most delegates so long as he gets a number that's close to Trump's (and Trump doesn't hit the magic number, of course). Any brokered convention where the establishment ends up picking someone who wasn't at least close to first place would be a disaster, though, so he really has to kick some butt to make it work.

You tried to compare the reaction to that flag to the reaction to religious iconography in public schools. They're not comparable. Pretty complicated...

I specifically pointed out secular examples, hence the lack of understanding on your part.

What is religious about the flag? What does a kindergarten class making a US flag out of international flags have to do with the religious iconography in public schools? Nothing, it's a red herring, there is no comparison here, move on.

And still missing the point. Pleebs made a comment that made it seem crazy that someone would get upset over a kindergarten art project when there are examples as simple as secular holiday imagery in school art projects that get people riled up much more frequently. Aaaaaaand then everyone took it out of context and basically proved my point anyway. It's actually kind of hilarious.

I dunno if hilarious is quite accurate. Hilariously sad maybe?

People taking things out of context, then piling on several straw men and a red herring or two and then claim they understand and we don't.

Classic RP&R conversation to say the least.

So, you compare a fictitious situation involving constitutional law to a real one involving toxic nationalism and you think everyone else missed the point. Got it.

Last polls I read has the Donald 16 - 20 over Rubio in FL and Cruz 20 behind Rubio. So Cruz has nothing to loose in FL. That's the short view. And taking the short view disqualifies him for the job IMHO.

Another point. FL has early voting. Perhaps 1/2 of the votes will have been cast before the negative Cruz missile hits the airwaves. Personally I am rooting for Rubio in FL but it isn't looking good for him.

The GOP establishment wants a brokered convention, so they will beg Rubio to stay in, perhaps even steer money his way.

But if they do get a brokered convention, none of the three top candidates will be on the ticket.

Rubio got trounced last night, I think he lost by 40 points in Maine. The guy is done, his political career is over. His campaign turned nasty and he didn't have a single policy proposal, he basically became Jeb. Good riddance.

This won't happen. It is fun to talk about but come on. It could have before the internet.

With the record breaking voting around the country they cannot say.. Well lets pick someone else.

Civil Wars start that way. Good thing Obama Scared everyone into buying guns. They are going to get used on the GOP Establishment..

He didn't become Jeb. Jeb had no clue what happened to his chances. Rubio does. I kind of agree with the good riddance part except I SO WANT a brokered convention and Rubio staying in gives the best odds of that.

It wasn't the internet that killed them. Seeing as the last brokered convention was 1952 it probably was TV.

Fun factor. The conventions have become coronations.

They used to discuss policy and platform on the convention feed. And often not politely. But today its all scripted spectacle.

That was a fun debate.

Hillary scares the ***out of me, and I'm starting to think trump is going to get her elected.

I love Bernie. such a cool guy. I could almost even vote for him, if it wasn't for all his crazy socialist ideas. why in the holy mother of *** would I want to send every numbnut 18 year old in the country to party at college for a year and wash out? the kids that are going to make it to / through a college degree already are, and will continue to.

I wouldn't have made it any further had it been free.

so that we can become a bunch of cheese eating surrender monkeys like the french!

the simple solution is to stop giving kids student loans to pursue majors with no future earning potential...

or just stop giving out loans to them altogether...

these kids have no idea about money, interest, debt, etc.

you wouldn't hand a 17 year old a 100k loan... what makes you think they are any smarter a year later?

dude they jack up that much in room and board over six years partying like it's 1999... then they try to piece together all the classes they passed because they were easy into a degree that nobody is hiring for...

like art history, woman's studies, political science, english...you name it.

My son is reluctant to major in the subjects his job is willing to pay him to take...

Look, it's simple. if nobody will pay you to take the classes you are interested in, then nobody will pay you enough money to pay back the loans taking the classes that interested YOU.

Well, what some of these kiddos don't seem to understand is that in admissions in Europe are more stringent. Starting in what we would consider middle school, kids are funneled into tiered systems based on aptitude. There is also no shying away from steering kids who won't meet the requirements into vocational schools. Countries offering free four-year university education ensure the return on their investment.

Hot-minute, self-fancied FASFA check "gazillionaires" are pretty annoying in the US. It's really no surprise when they fail out either.

Allow me to educate you on the fundamentals of "supply and demand."

If last year there were 5 million college educations available and there was a total of 150 billion dollars available to spend of them, then each education is going to cost an average of 30,000 bucks (right?)

If next year the government says we're gonna dump an extra 20 billion into the pool in new loan programs well now you have 170 billion over what is now 5.2 million educations. Now it costs 32,692 per education.

Multiply that by the past 20 years and it becomes painfully clear what has happened. Dumping easy money into the sector effectively distorts the value of what is exchanged. Pretty soon the easy money for college will have entirely destroyed the whole concept of higher learning as the price will be so astronomical that there will be absolutely no way for one to properly leverage the debt coming out of school.

Witness the destruction that is liberalism.

(PS the same thing happens with health care too)
