Same. Exact. Thing. Cerberus.Pleebo said: » Religion in school vs a craft project Same. Exact. Thing. Lol, sure, just word it so it sounds different. They both have to do with the context of what the craft project is, so your stupid diary line is just... well... you know the word. Offline

No, he doesn't..
That's only cause Altima considers the flag "defaced". No one else does, so no there's no equivalence except for him.

Quote: UPDATE: The auction site on which the flag was featured has taken down all images of the item as well as any description of it. There are just certain people who shouldn't be calling out other people for getting worked up over little things. Quote: The United States Supreme Court has determined that schools may celebrate the holidays and create displays as long as they so do within “the context of the Christmas season” and the religious component of their display does not dominate but simply represents one element of a holiday that has obtained secular status in our society. Lynch v. Donnelly, 465.U.S. 668, 679, and 691 (1984). Under this ruling, a Christmas tree would be appropriate while a cross or a nativity scene would not. Crosses and nativity scenes are purely religious symbols that have not gained secular status in our society and therefore may not be displayed in public schools. So, uh, where is this SCOTUS precedence for not allowing Christmas trees and Santa Claus in schools? Anyone who gives a ***about christmas trees is just as loony as Altima for caring about flag craft projects.

Thanks for pointing out the problem with our society.
People who think degrading the American flag is "loony", and don't care that the teacher of those kids has no respect for the flag and is passing it onto the next generation. I don't believe even for a second that if a kid drew a flag and wrote on it "I ♥ America" someone would have thrown a fit just the same.

Since you are either being completely oblivious here or really honestly don't understand. I'll explain it.
It is not okay to put "I ♥ America" on the American flag. It is especially not okay to deface the American flag with other countries flags. You going to the extreme of defacing the American Flag with "I ♥ America" is like me saying they may as well have put a Nazi swastika on it. (notice how I didn't do that) Why you ask? Because they are all unacceptable. The American Flag is the symbol of our country that had been fought for since before your or my conception. This is what should be taught in school and why this is exactly what is wrong with our country. Lack of respect for the country we live in and people like you have ZERO understanding of it. Most likely because you either refuse to care or have never been taught. You're my favorite Altima.
