Religious men have often pulled the strings on power which means that mages reign supreme! Those knights/deeps only move because the priests/sorcs command it.

Seriously though, my preference in MMOs is always evolving and usually revolves around me liking to play the underdog/least played classes. Support can be alot of fun depending on the game. (see: Corsair)

I leveled COR because I wanted to support, I ended up playing it like melee.

I wish BRD in FFXIV is as fun as COR, too bad it's not D: I still haven't encounter any class in other MMO that comes close to COR.

I suspect you haven't studied what clinical narcissism is, then, because you basically gave one of the classic definitions.

No one cares about the frilly mage with the cure spells and support tactics unless your name is Gandalf and even Gandalf had some wicked DPS and a sword. The only time people notice the mage is when they can't tunnelvision into DPS or wipe repeatedly. Thankless position all around.
By "no one," do be sure that you mean "teenage boys." I played Priest in WoW and when I healed for random groups, I would regularly get compliments. They came especially when I had a woman tanking. By god, I love nothing more than a young mother taking a random dungeon. "Hey, guys, I'm sorry, but I need to change the baby... if you can hang on, though, I'm good for a few more runs." They're so much more pleasant than the raging balls (pun intended) of unfulfilled testosterone that we call teenage boys.

Oh, and when involved in group play, I tend to opt for a support-type role. White Mage, Priest, Bard, that sort of thing. I play solo more often, though, which is likely why most FFXI players recognize me as a Monk player or, possibly, a Ninja player.

Anyway, on topic, I'm glad that people have been quick to say in the media that, though Rodgers was apparently autistic, it certainly was not a significant factor in his behavior. I remember some passive-aggressive *** asking me how I felt being aspie after Sandy Hook happened and I just stared while saying that the two are not meaningfully related.

Which isn't to say that high-function autists are saints. We're prone to all the foibles neurotypical people have, though some to considerably lesser extent (most aspies, for instance, simply don't get as concerned about sex as NT people -- that said, I spent a couple years as a ***, so don't imagine that being socially awkward sentences someone to lifelong virginity) and others to a considerably worse effect. I guess I'm lucky that my personal obsession is figuring out how you hu-mans work (which is to say: I like psychology, sociology, philosophy, genetics, medicine, and most forms of creative expression), so I can fake normalcy when I feel like it. Which isn't often.

I really can't fathom this kid, though. He seems to have had no relationship with his family. As an exercise, I once wrote an autobiography not unlike his little manifesto (embarrassingly just as detailed), but I spent a lot of time talking about the impact of my brothers and parents and cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and friends and classmates. Though I lack Rodgers's skill in remembering names. Man, he had a chip on his shoulder the size of Asia. But I guess I can't understand anyone who fails to achieve simple goals. I've been pity-*** by someone way out of my league, so I'll never understand how some people can both obsess about sleeping with the beautiful people and fail to never achieve it.

I have a bias where I figure everyone is gay but not admitting it. I almost seriously wonder if this kid was but couldn't handle the implications (it would mar his perfection to like taking it up the butt -- although, there's plenty of straight guys who like that, anyhow). I'm fairly sure that's just my bias talking, but I have certain opinions regarding people who say overtly misogynistic things, especially when they appear to mean it.

Every time I get closer to what feminism is they change the definition !

What if the shooter in CA was a woman and did the rampage because men wouldn't date her ?

A lot of feminist don't have a sense of humor though...which is sad.

This popped up on my FB feed today. Oddly I felt inclined to share.
I've called domestic violence on a man beating up his brother and on a woman beating up her girlfriend, as well as contacting the police when two drug addicts attacked and injured one another, so, yes, I can and do assist. More than a few times I've seen a woman trip and fall while I am biking past (no clue how that keeps happening) and I immediately stop exactly because I am not going to take it on faith that her male companion is on the level.

You'd think, but they've mostly been in flats. Granted, I live in the university district and near a LOT of bars, so I've literally watched stupid girls in stilettos who are drunk out of their minds, but I've also seen 30-something women in sneakers. I never see men trip. It's just... weird. Could give a guy a complex if I imagined it meant something, e.g., my *** is so wonderful that women fall over themselves.

So... am I the only one reading this right or the only one reading this wrong? Because "woo" is a verb that makes a lot of contextual sense here... it's also probably the biggest anti-feminist statement I've seen made by a woman in at least 15 minutes.

Right?
Feminism is an unobtainable ideal. A radical one at that, which causes tension between people while only benefiting an individual rather than society as a whole.

Damaging to society, beneficial to the individual.

What makes it even more dangerous is that it teaches the illusion of somehow believing that it benefits society for those who subscribe to it.

The real people responsible according to Huff Post: MRA

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/anne-theriault-/elliot-rodger-shooting_b_5386818.html?utm_hp_ref=women&ir=Women

"This is what the Men's Rights Movement teaches its members. Especially vulnerable, lonely young men who have a hard time relating to women. It teaches them that women, and especially feminist women, are to blame for their unhappiness. It teaches them that women lie, that they cheat, trick and manipulate. It teaches them that men as a social class are dominant over women and that they are entitled to women's bodies. It teaches them that women who won't give them what they want deserve some kind of punishment.

Because this is what the Men's Rights Movement does: it spreads misogyny, it spreads violence, and most of all it spreads a sense of entitlement towards women's bodies. Pretending that this is the a rare act perpetrated by a "crazy" person is disingenuous and also does nothing to address the threat of violence that women face every day. We can't just write this one off -- we need to talk about all of the messed up parts of our culture, especially the movements that teach men that they have the right to dominate and intimidate and violate women, that lead to this, and we need to change things. Because if we don't, I guarantee that this will happen again. And again. And again."

That ladies and gentlemen is why feminism is dangerous.

Another example of yet another radical movement. Both equally as dangerous.

Should just teach males not to hit and abuse women. Treat them with respect. Not that men are inherently evil and must be stopped. Or that women are the source of all evil.

It works both ways with these ideologies.

Work together and not fight and argue amongst each other all the time would be a better answer.

I just find it funny that no one is blaming the shooter they are just pushing an agenda to further their own cause. Be it men or women or gun control no one wants to make the shooter the target.

And yes some men are just as bad as the feminists.

What feminists fail to realize is that they aren't victims in everything. They want to believe the entire world is anti women. And they are on some crusade to stop men or whoever else put them down.

The equality argument doesn't work for me because it is never about men. They claim they want men to be equal but I fail to see it.

By elevating women aren't they contradicting the very movement they claim to be for ?

At what point do they ever think women will be equal ? My answer never even with all the progress women make in society. It is never enough.

Well once you blame the shooter entirely, you then toss out the whole idea that society should work towards helping one another.

It'll open a whole can of worms about how the rich need to pay more taxes to help starving single mothers and the poor versus why should they help society when society neglected this kid's basic needs.

If you want or really bored go for it, but count me out of that argument, because it really leads to nothing but hate.

As a programer and engineer mentally, I always seek out diagnosis of the situation and ultimately look for a solution to problem. I don't see any good coming from arguing that aspect.

Society will never be about that self interest always comes first.

Society is a reflection of ourselves so take a good look at what we are. Do you think anyone will change ?

I'm sure CNN has already moved on to another story. So this will all be forgotten in about a week.

Nothing will change. Men will still be evil guns still evil. And we will repeat the cycle over and over.

It can be. It just takes a lot of effort.

Most people are too wrapped up in their daily lives to do otherwise. But when there's a will there's a way.

The past few generations have been so wrapped up in themselves, but economic despair creates a window for social change. Just got to make sure it's for the better and not the self interests.
