Kenkonken is awesome but ultimately it lets an awesome puppetmaster do as much damage as an average monk.

This is straight up wrong, but people sure like to say it. Was true back in the days before PUP got H2H skill raised to A+, but people never reconsidered that 2008-era "common knowledge". Now, a KKK PUP should destroy an "average" MNK and fall short of a Glanz MNK (as it should be, IMHO). A good Vere PUP will beat most non-Mythic/Empy MNKs too.

Each has their own quirks to be sure. MNK has better defense thanks to counters and HP, and formless for whenever that helps. In addition to strong DD, PUP has legitimate support utility with mage puppets (RDM enfeebles and haste II/phalanx on master, WHM frame helping for regen/cure/-na on party members) and can make up some damage with DD puppets (which are admittedly fairly lackluster on stuff that matters, but it's something).

Really? Because when I spreadsheet it out with the new gear, I get KKK PUP with ideal gear and favorable target/buffs/debuffs being about equal to a decent Tinhaspa monk, and being about 20% behind an excellent monk with mythic.

I love puppetmaster. It's an incredibly fun job, and my last big in-game goal is Kenkonken. But PUP isn't anywhere near as good as monk, which itself is still not a top-tier DD any longer.

Can we call it 4 Death Penalties and Idris?

Speaking of Idris; something else that's really cool about it:

~VEX/~ATTUNEMENT removes the need of a yagrush...sometimes.

Doom? Cursna has a brutal recast when paired with Accession and no Divine Benison.

The best mythics in the order I obtained them:
Yagrush
Conqueror
Koga
Laevateinn

I started working on Tizona, so I suppose it can have the last spot.

Wow really? Yagrush allows you to be lazy lol. Totally bs. I work my arse off on whm, and am far from lazy. You can ask anyone I run with and they can tell you that. A good whm is never lazy....

A Good WHM isn't lazy. You are not lazy and you are a good WHM Cyleena. But a good WHM doesn't "Need" a Yagrush to do a good job. The point is that it doesn't give a large enough boost to be considered as OP as everyone thinks it is.

Cyleena said: »
Idris is amazing, Burt is great for pld, Tupsimati is great for sch. Depending kinda on what you doing. Yag helps a lot especially if you do stuff without many healers. I have done 18 man runs with only me whm, and am definitely glad of the yag in that scenario.

This is a fair point. If I were bringing only 1 WHM with me to 18 man content, I would want them to have a Yagrush. But really.. who is actually doing this consistently?

Let me rephrase what I said earlier about Yag and Carn letting people be lazy:

If you are good at your job you are naturally not lazy and are going to do all of the little things well. Yagrush and Carn make it much more efficient for you to do all of these other things, obviously. But we aren't talking about good players, we are talking about weapons. The weapons themselves should not be considered overpowered. They slightly change one mechanic for each job, so if you are not good enough to take full advantage of this, then yes.. all they will do is allow you to be lazy. Those that can take full advantage of their efficiency will benefit exponentially – but that's a lot to ask of the average BRD or WHM as i'm sure you know. Most would rather do the bare minimum.

I totally agree a Yag does not make the player. I was whm for about 3-4 years before I even thought about making a yag. Though it does help out on the job and nice to have it is not a game breaker. I have been a whm/sch with no yag on many occasions and done just fine.

I know that 18 man with only 1 whm is very rare to see but for some content people are trying to do it with less whm's and more other jobs. I was in a pug run last night for T4, and T5 with 18 ppl, and solo whm but that is rare. (Rare to find me in a pug run too because pug runs are not my thing to join normally but I always get dragged into stuff. lol) If you have a good whm you can get away with it.

I also agree I have seen many whm's and brds that are bare minimum and I know most do not like playing those jobs. Those that love the job and put a effort in those jobs do enjoy the benefits the mythics give them but if you are not dedicated and enjoy the job it I would not bother making a yag or carn.

Vex/Attunement does help remove the need for yag sometimes but you have to fight in the bubbles which I have seen many DD wander out of them due to hate being weird or knock back or w/e. I have also seen stuff get past the bubbles on occasion. I really love yag for the erases and cursna if party doomed, and no strat timers to wait on. Accession sch is great if you do not have a yag but you have those long timers to wait on making it not efficient, and single erasing or na spelling each person sucks especially if the group you are with are depending on you for main cures.

I agree, thats why I indicated "...sometimes". The mob wandering out of the bubbles and players that dont bring it back can be frustrating. But thank goodness for Life Cycle, Conserve MP accessories and AF3 procs. Still it can get draining on the MP pool at times.

Unless you're planning a broadside of quick draws, 100% physical damage reduction on activation with relic feet, you're done! Well until you ready the next broadside and I'm still waiting on Sentinel to be usable again.

EDIT: Or are you implying use of Leaden Salute because that's cheating.
