The real problem is that we just simply can't do that. While the majority of the public opinion on a national level might be that we want them tar and feathered for their actions (hyperbolic historical reference). We simply can't just get rid of them. We can only get rid of the ones in our congressional district within the state we live. Thats why a lot these congressional members can do whatever they want, shut the government down and as long they represent a swath of a state that is anti-federal government then they are golden.

My whole platform would be that I have not been influenced by politics on any level. My knowledge of governmental management comes from outside observations and knowledge in my field. People want somebody who isn't set into the system, they have been complaining about how corrupt politicians are because they have been in system for so long, they are pretty much stuck in the status quo of Washington politics. I would be the breath of fresh air needed to revitalize the country. So, no, I will not be tainted by local and state elections.

I mean, if a "community leader" and a senator who has voted "present" in almost the entire term as senator became president, why shouldn't I?

I've posted several links pointing to NPS (National Park Service) going to great lengths to aggravate and keep people out of parks (vets, tourists, etc). Here's another one where they're blocking scenic stops along the highways at Mt Rushmore.

Yet the same organization allowed a "pro-immigration rally" yesterday in the national mall undoubtedly full of illegal immigrants. Clearly, someone is directing this department to execute a particular agenda where group X gets treated one way and group y gets treated another.

The National Park Service is a wing of the Department of the Interior. That is headed by the Secretary of the Interior, a member of the President's cabinet. Obama hand picked him to do this job and this is what's happening.

What wizardry do you practice where you don't hold Obama responsible for this?

Maybe that's too harsh, it doesn't help that the media doesn't even ask him anything but softball questions at his pressers. To answer your question... 1) Republican nonsense and politics are the reason the parks were closed in the first place... republican nonsense and politics are what keep the parks closed... 2) I don't think you understand that as the federal government is in charge of these parks and services if they are not staffed and running when things go wrong no one will be there to assist and also they are still legally responsible for any activities that go on there... When it's shut down people should be staying out... if they're that pissed off about it then keep bugging the ***out of your reps to do something about it...

So why are you ok with republican representatives going to the parks and bitching out park workers "for not doing their job" and you're not ok with the parks remaining shut down and people being kept out?
