If it's a 1975-82 Ford V8, it'll be about a $50 fix. My dad needs one.
It's a '94 Toyota Corolla. But even $50 is still too much, I don't have a job.

I just spent $70 on a distributor for my '47 Willys CJ-2A. ***'s expensive. Guess what my '94 Ford Explorer needs? 4x4 hubs, $216. ; ;

I'm pretty sure there's a shitload of other problems with my car, actually. But this one has stopped it from being usable, which means it needs to be fixed asap.

Only problem is how will I get a job to pay for it if I don't even have use of it? ._.

If you truly care about someone you don't just "get bored" of them, especially after 2 years. You should know by then whether or not you like the person. I mean, you don't just stop being friends with someone cuz you're bored of them do you? I know I don't. No relationship is perfect either. You have to actually try to make it work.

Depends. Usually, it just makes it harder to use. If you can 'hotwire' it, try turning on the key, and, wearing gloves, take a screwdriver or something and touch it to the battery cable at the starter and the steel frame, underneath the car. This hotwires it, if it turns over and starts up, the solenoid is bad, not the starter. If you hear some grinding, the armature is probably burnt up, get a new starter.

Maybe, but stagnation causes boredom. If both sides aren't willing to keep things fresh a relationship will die.

apparently you live in a fictional world where everyone is happy all the time. In the real world where the rest of us live in, the fire in a relationship tends to die down. Of course, both parties will try to keep the fire alive, and most succeed.

But there are people who just do not like the idea of "forever after" with the same person, thus they get "bored" with them and move on. Maybe there is a reason, maybe its her fault, maybe its his.

Careful with that advice, you could get someone's face blown off.

You have to know which post is hot, and don't ground that one, and which of two or three posts is the ground side of the solenoid. It'll spark either way, but probably weld the screwdriver to your chassis/block if you get on the wrong one (speaking from experience, hooray for lead-acid internal resistance). If you want to test the motor or solenoid separately, most have them jumpered together with a short lead and the smaller is the solenoid ground (this is also the easy way to tell the ground side of everything, since one positive terminal feeds both in most setups). A good motor should sound like a really big R/C car with its wheels off the ground, a good solenoid should 'click' but not 'ker-clunk'.

When you turn the key, to start the engine, does the starter click, or does it make a hesitant humming or a grinding sound?

I don't trust myself enough to try hotwiring, and my car's currently over at a friend's house, which is where it borked while my ex had it.
