Well for one camera is done via ijkl only. Targetting is poor. Menus are laggy. You have to take your weapon out and back in manually. You can't do anythign with it in can't regen with it out and run alot slower. Which makes gravity kinda lame. That is why I have no intention of playing it. I just got this computer, and upgraded the video card just to find out I'd have to upgrade it further just to play.

I dont want my video games to cost me 2 grand, Thats kinna silly, when every other game I play thats new works just great! Its will scare away players and cause the game to fail as pretty as it is

2. It basicaly comes down to slow tabbing or using mouse/controller. It makes going between casting on myself and the mob really fun.
3. If it was my PC I'd hate to see someone play it on PS3 since the stats on my PC are way way way higher than a PS3. I specifically went kinda overboard making mine a year ago so it would be useful for awhile
4. Yes. As it turns out things that make a game bad are frustrating and make you not like it... that's just common sense
Like I said play it and you will find out that it's just really shiny frustrating experience

Again, i go back to FFXI day where to play FFXI best you had to spend 1.5k now 300$ will play FFXI great.

2. That's not as bad as Phantasy Star Universe's targetting system (hell it had almost nothing of a targetting system. Whatever was the nearest to you was your target)

That is how you are interpreting it. That doesn't mean that is what they are saying. They are expressing their opinions of various aspects of the game. Their opinions are not the first of this type I've seen and/or heard from friends.
SE appears to have dropped the ball on this one. Sure it'll be fixed eventually, but for now, it isn't what it could be. Also, the beta is not where it should be for 1 month before release.
Conan the Barbarian was extremely resource intensive for it's time, and it ended up failing. I sincerely hope that this is not the case for XIV

Anyone who has actually played it knows you are completely wrong. There are numerous issues that aren't being resolved way too soon for a release. It has nothing to do with people being negative nancies

I've never played it and I know this. Granted, I read what people post about it and listen to friends who got into the beta.

Even before Beta, people were saying "FFXIV is going to fail"
now they're trying to make it a nicer version by adding "if they don't delay the final release"

So was Everquest II. It's THE perfect example of that. I bought it. Ran like a piece. Got a very small fanbase and most EQ people stayed on 1 or left because they couldn't run it at the time.
It's just how it is.
Edit: And if you knew how big the fanbase of EQ was, you'd understand how hard 2 failed.
I think it's also a huge reason WoW has the following it does. You can have a POS computer and still run the game reasonably well, and it looks sort of pretty.
Kay, Ive been playing the beta since the first day it went live, and since you don't play honestly you wont really understand where this is all coming from, and won't unless you are in the test actually playing it. Seems like you just don't want to hear anything bad or criticism about the new game but all of the complains are warranted, documented, and hundreds upon hundreds of people agree in the forums. Comparing it to ffxi isn't a good idea, they are not the same. All of the people seems to be agreeing on the same points. SO I dont see the problem here really.
