That happens to me sometimes when my ISP is acting up. Usually we lose TV for a few minutes and we know they're resetting their servers or w/e and it gets all better.

I generally don't make a new thread unless it's important, 'cuz then the thread title is all red and bold 'n crap on the main page. I reserve that for stuff I actually care about people reading.
I think it used it once for a piano music post too, which made me feel like a bit of an attention ***. But there's no way for me to create a thread that doesn't end up red.

now i am going to click on the link they made for beels and listen to peaceful sounds.
The real reason we can't do colored bars is because they're the only real source of authority marking on the forum, and if we go much beyond the red+green we get now, the implied permissions levels go wonky in people's heads. Especially n00bs who are the ones who will likely take notice the most.
Once we give out a colored bar, we would basically have to track everything you later say to make sure you're not implying to someone that it means more than it does. Or that you're speaking for the site when you aren't. And I don't really wanna do that all day.
If we were going to give something "special" to users it would likely be along the lines of special titles under the names, a la other forums in existence. But not colored bars.
Once we give out a colored bar, we would basically have to track everything you later say to make sure you're not implying to someone that it means more than it does. Or that you're speaking for the site when you aren't. And I don't really wanna do that all day.
