Not going to XIV more than likey. I don't have a PC that can support it. I don't own a PS3. And, I have more important things to worry about then selling my soul to SE for another 5 years.

Well heres the thing

This has subtle blow...alot. Very important for all the tp you will be feeding.

Has almost double the dmg of the 2-3 dagger or the low dmg OAT. Both good OAT and 2-3 require thousands of mob kills and NMs. Good OAT requires hard to get stuff while auric is easy 1 NM kill.

Auric has less delay to begin with. Also on a dnc with suppa the enhance DW alone increases attack speed by 8%.

Also auric helps your overall attack speed ie both hands. OAT/2-3 only helps off hand. And OAT/2-3 loses value in the presence of double/triple attack (part of the reason that any dagger on the market will beat joy toy even with capped acc on swd with saber dance up)

Also there is nothing to stop you from mainhanding auric and offhanding a trial dagger

There is something that would stop you from using 2 trial daggers that attack multiple times though

Also consistency.

I haven't really done the math on tp gain since there is a bit of variables but it goes way up as effective delay goes down. So I'd use it on thf even

The only real benefit I can see is the fact that you give the mob less TP than a multi-attacking dagger.

Remember how, in endgame events, everyone carefully coordinates things with tanks and healers to ensure mobs never gain enough TP to WS, with a MNK rotation and DRKs spamming Absorb TP?

Exactly, no one cares about TP fed, ever.

Dual Wield lowers TP gain per hit also, so it's a double-edged sword. Sure, the benefits outweigh the detriments by a lot but you gain TP much faster just offhanding a Mercurial Kris either way.

Oh I know. But at lower delays like that tp/per hit barely goes down at all.

Also Mkris is litterally 1/4 the dmg of this lol.

It sorta depends on support and what you are doing. But if you have something like double attack roll or saber dance and to a lesser extent full triple attack going on multihit weapons just kinda start failing compared to normal weapons. Even in tp gain not counting actual dps.

And well thf is much more concerned about dps and dnc... well they make rediculous amounts of tp as is anyways

Whatever way you look at it, offhand weapons are designed to gain TP faster, and Mercurial Kris is infinitely better for that. Even with all things considered, Auric Dagger has higher delay than Blau Dolch. Granted, it's practically as good as Mandau...But there are better daggers either way you look at it.

The question I've been wondering is, at what point does the low damage on MK start causing hits for 0?

I think you have to have something like 50 less STR than your target's VIT. Meaning if you have 0 STR gear while TPing, your target has to be roughly 30 levels above you? Something like that, I'm sure it's more now that level cap is increased.

Not usually, no. Even with a 1-DMG weapon, you can still cause damage to merit mobs.

Well it actually being such a low rank weapon fstr low caps at only -1. So from -14dstr to 1million dstr it still hits at 7 base dmg.

To make you hit 0 from just def/lvl difference you would need a pdif of less than .1428... yeah you'd pretty much have to be hitting a lvl 90+ mob with no attack buffs and no -def debuffs on it. In which case even high dmg weapons can hit for 0

1150 will probably run about 20 FPS on fullscreen at lower resolutions, but it WILL run it. The benchmark they released is only in windowed mode (Which will lag on almost any computer), Zicdeh made a good point in another thread, if you get above 1500 you'll be able to run low resolution in full screen without any problems. My current laptop got 2700 and I was thinking about getting a new one, but a score of 3000 should technically run High resolution without any graphical hitches, so I should be fine.

I don't really understand that benchmark.

I have a 2.4ghz quad core and I barely got good enough on the benchmark. The PS3 which this should work on is a 3.2ghz single core...

Again, the benchmark only ran in windowed mode, which hits your frame rate pretty hard no matter how good it is. Going to have to wait until they release a windowed version.

Not like Mac can play games anyway, so you'll be fine.
