SMN kiting is actually not that bad, as long as your SMN knows what to do.

And bring ethers

And yag drinks

and only 2hrs for getting MP back when needed

and is an expert kiter.....

I can see the merits of that setup. When I said I'm putting in the back of my head, that's not a dismissal.

I also have ethers/pots/yag drinks stocked for CoP runs. One of the ups of skilling up on hi-ethers is I have plenty.

Didn't think it was a dismissal. Just giving advice, since I was the only who kited the entire run without getting hit.

Except that stupid AoE stun *** @.@

Word of advice though: Fenrir > Carby. Even though he uses more mp per tick (can be countered by yag drink though) he survives a LOT longer and does a LOT more damage than carby, which gives you enough time to run and when he dies, summon him again for runing away again.

Our problem was one RDM ran in too far ahead of the other RDM and PLD. That RDM lost all shadows, and had crazy hate. The other RDM was the second to last to die. So basically like you, we had one great kiter and one not so great kiter. Unfortunately, ours didn't turn out like yours.

I'll have to find out what avatars our SMN(s) have. Personally I only have shiva. Of course, my SMN isn't high enough anyway.

Any avatar > carby tbh. Fenrir has most HP and attack, plus costs either 1 or 2 mp perp less than the others though. Endgame SMN too. Carby mitts helps for getting MP back quickly (yag drink = 1 mp refresh with Carby mitts and Carby out) so you can survive a lot longer if you have a SMN who knows what they are doing.

oh, and the nice thing about SMN kiter > any other kiter

Avatars have this nice hidden ability that only SMNs know about, which makes avatars better tanks than 99.9% of the PLDs anywhere (only Ikuni on Asura is better than avatars as tanking with this trait)

Ok, this is the hidden ability:

Damage taken - 35%

Thats right. Avatars come equiped with Defending Ring, both of Odin's Armors, and more!

You really have to pimp out your PLD to have a more Damage taken -% than avatars :D

lol, I did 2-5 for a friend last weekend.

Setup was:

PLD
WHM
SMN (me)
SMN (a gimpy one too)
SAM
MNK

The SMNs were kiters (wouldn't you believe it @.@) and one never really touched his SMN, so he didn't know how to kite.

Since I'm an expert Self-Destruct Carby Sac SMN, I had to show him the sublities of kiting without getting hate, he never learned @.@

Only had 2 liquids also, none dropped from the Mammets either....

....yet, somehow, we won.....and broke record.....wtf is up with that?

I'll put that in the back of my head for future strategies. I think we only have one SMN available.

I'm also having to balance PTs so everyone gets a run. We had 9 people last night. Since the battlefield is 6-man, 3 of us (me, two RDMs) were going to do it twice.

One of the RDMs will be switching to WHM so I can switch to DNC.

3 nin/rdms 1 whm couple dd's easy win, but idk if you have 3 nin on hands but at 40 nin makes for a great tank/dd with the tier 2 nin elemental spells

When I did CoP back in the day when it was harder. I remember this crazy awesome ninja just solo'd his own like it was nothing. He had like 43295672935 elixers or something and he always kept his shadows up. I dont think we would have won if it wasn't for his awesome tanking skills.

i never got 2-5 done lol >.> always got stupid people from my stupid ls so we would wipe grrrrrr

If I do the DNC setup, I'm trying to figure out what to sub. LS mate that suggested the setup mentioned maybe MNK. Personally, I don't understand how /NIN wouldn't be good. The shadows would help a lot. I think I'm going to have to take a group of 3 or so into Riverne and just play around on DNC.

NP. I'll be logged in shortly and you can /befriend. Miemo, same thing.

Looks like we'll be doing 3 fights.

For those that have completed: Wiki mentions that, after you complete and end up somewhere else, you can use a displacement or something to come back. Is that true? With so many fights needed, I'm looking for the easiest way to get back and ready to go.

Come on now, we all know the people who actually need the mission only have 1 or 2 jobs to choose from. And they're usually drg or pup.

Unless they smn burned their jobs, then they're still uncapped stuff.

May want you on WHM. That way we have one for each run (assuming we do two PTs). Though it's looking like three runs now due to jobs needed. Up to 12 participants. 11 of which need 2-5.

Sure thing boss. Hopefully these people actually bring items and ***. I'm tired of being the only one that brings yag drinks, potions, RR, etc just to lose.
