You can drop Butterfree. It's only good until like Lv25+ since its low *** stats begin to show. If you need a fighting type, Primape is pretty good (Machamp would be better but of course you'll need someone to trade).
If TM'd properly, Clefable can be winsauce. I don't remember if abilities are in those generations, but I know now Clefairy/Clefable can have Magic Guard, which prevents ALL extra effects on moves (Flinch, paralyze, anything.)
You need a Fire or like a Ghost/Dark/Psychic. (since you have Venusaur, that Grass type takes up another slot)

Pidgeot (no better bird options in those versions honestly except Aerodactyl)

That's almost exactly what I had in mind actually. I find Kabutops can be an extremely exceptional choice in these games since it starts at LV5. A LV5 pokemon trained all the way to 40 will be stronger than a pokemon caught at LV40 almost always, barring Legendaries.
I was considering Dragonite for that last slot, the only Dragon pokemon in generation 1.

EDIT: I have almost all the legendaries now, I caugth Lugia, Ho-oH, dogs and birds with ultra balls, but the Latios is difficult to get a good run at because the pokemon I use to pin it down is weak to its moves. Only got Latios and the Kyudogre or w/e its called to go, and Im assuming the latter does not run.

Oh duh. I always forget about Dragonite. (ironically I usually end up with one all the time...)
Just hate how it evolves at 55...I usually don't try to get one until I'm actually that level and have a bunch of Rare Candies for the final few levels since Dragonair is sooo weak...

As I said before, the Master Ball is merely a luxury item. Everything can be caught with ease, but some Pokemon are just more annoying than others. If you're having trouble with Latios, then use it on that. I enjoy the challenge of catching so I never use my Master Ball.
I just looked it up and it's ironic how easy it is to trade between two VBA games.
Literally, save your game with the name Pokemon LeafGreen or something, then save it again with the name Pokemon LeafGreen 2, then load both games in VBA Link 1.7.2, and go to the trade area. Can easily duplicate items or pokemon doing that to the point where it feels almost like cheating.

lol they came out in 2007. i like how i can level my digimon and digivole them but get tired of them dedigivolve the same one and turn it into something else lol but lots of lame dungeons
