That's weird, though admittedly Crysis uses weird coding also. 32 bit or 64 bit? There should be an option to choose the correct one.
I have no idea, I would hope 64 bit since I am running a 64 bit version of vista. However, this was installed and given to me completely through Steam, so it installs kinda funny compared to the out of the box kind.

My Crysis ran oddly also. Sure, full 60 FPS but I couldn't Alt-tab without it crashing or anything like that. Running 64 bit on a 64 bit computer.
Did your game come with Crysis Warhead? That uses a bit better coding and should run smoother, so if you tried that out it would answer your question.

I've had res/hertz issues before. For some reason when my HDTV is set to 60 Hz (the highest my PC will recognize even though the TV itself can go to 120Hz), my Nvidia display config tool thingy loves to toss it down to 16 bit color, and when I throw it back up to 32 bit, it lowers the Hz to 24 for no good reason. However, my way around this is to simply set it to 60 Hz via Nvidia tool, and use Windows to bump it back to 32 bit color without it automatically readjusting. In other words; HDTV + my video card = conflicting.
I'll try running vanilla crysis via warhead since my steam gift was one gigantic crysis package that included warhead and wars.

Well first off, derp, Warhead is a completely separate game as it's the expansion. Only way to play vanilla Crysis is to just load it as is. Secondly, after playing the opening cutscene for warhead, my display drivers went *** YOU and totally crashed the game D:

Nvidia GTS 250, 512 MB of RAM. Also, tried playing Crysis non full screen at max res, and ran pretty good, til all of a sudden my graphics drivers once again crashed the game... My vid card does not like my TV or this game.
Edit: Whoa, new drivers were just released by nvidia today. Gonna install those and restart. Hopefully this will fix some issues i've had. I knew video cards and HDTVs didn't get along but hopefully this will clear some issues out, or at least not make my game crash -.-
You lack RAM hardcore. That may be the problem. I have 8GB on my laptop here.

Rather not blow $140 on a new vid card for the extra RAM, but I think for now I'll try running the game on a lower res, which strangely keeps my 60 HZ in full screen, but the odd part is, rather than stretching to fit screen like most games would in full screen mode, I get black bars and only see the given res in visibility.
Yeah crysis is a RAM hog.
I have 12GB on my desktop at the moment and it still loves to give me problems :/

Btw, I was speaking of 512 MB of vRAM, not system RAM. I got 4 GB of that.
Still could use some more though. 8 would make me happy.

SAM = Fun as hell
MNK = Fun as hell
THF = steal = aweesommeeeee
Love corsair, favorite job in XI. Fun as hell to level and even play EG or meriting. Hard as in expensive/occasional risk big-win big situations but that's the thrill of it.
Pulling can be a pain with high delay guns sometimes too.
But totally worth it in the end.

Well, the new drivers seemed to help my game from crashing but there's just one problem. My guy in crysis absolutely refuses to punch. I put up his fists and my mouse buttons do absolutely nothing. He won't punch at all.

Nothing. My guns shoot fine with my mouse, but the moment I go to his fists, nothing happens, he won't punch. Stranger thing: his punches work fine on a previous save, I load my newest one... no punching.
Kinda sick of ***not working. Gonna give it a break and see if my geeky friend can work some of his Jew Magic and fix it.
