Anyone here ever bought something big from craiglist?
I've seen tons of good deals on there for cars, but 90% of them fit into that 'too good to be true' category. One I actually looked up and confirmed it was a scam (the e-mail response I got was in line with the usual responses). I haven't taken the time to e-mail any of the others though.

Well half of them I'm not going to bother with since they couldn't bother to post the important details. If you leave off something like mileage, then it's probably because it's high.

I bought my motorcycle from someone I worked with. I bought my Geo tracker from my mom. I bought my Scion from my brother-in-law.

I 'sold' the motorcycle to my bro, gave the tracker to my niece for her first car a little over a year ago, the S10 won't crank, and my Scion is in the shop.

I sold the lesabre on craigslist for like $500 because the insurance company said I had 2-3 weeks to get rid of it. It wasn't in the best of shape but it had low mileage for such an old car. The only physical damage you could see was a dent in the rear passenger side above the wheel. It also had new front tires.
It would have only been like $300 if I traded it in to the dealer.
Two people looked at it, the 2nd one bought it without even test driving it. (Nothing was wrong with the car, but still)
