joycons feel weird by themselves, much so when using one with both hands I hated the first place I worked at as a web developer, they paid ***and seemed to ***on people who wanted to take sick time or vacation time (but if they didn't use either they wouldn't roll over, so it's either you get bitched at for taking time off or let it go to waste)

Places like that can take a big D right in the E. Yes, the E. Places like that can take a big D right in the E. Yes, the E. It's a little weird too because it seemed that it was basically a blanket policy that effected all employees. I'm more used to it depending on your manager or supervisor. Like my current manager definitely has the attitude of "It's your time, use it when you'd like" which I definitely appreciate, but coworkers have told me stories of how their previous managers at the same place will say how their sickness doesn't sound bad enough to miss work or whatever, which I would not appreciate Our supervisors largely do not wish to know what's wrong with you. The less they know the less than have to be responsible for/etc. Especially if you qualify for FMLA or similar chronic condition absences. All they want to know is "FMLA day? Okay. See you tomorrow."
It's pretty chill in that regard, and I like it that way. Seriously. There's nowhere to go, there's gonna be snow and cold, whatever.
I might take a single extra day the week of Thanksgiving, but that's because it can line up so that it's also my anniversary on/around the day (11/21). Let people piss off admin trying to optimize the big holidays. I'll save mine for random 3-4 day weekends in July and August on the boat! But seriously my office was empty around christmas/new years with people chaining vacation days or sick days from Christmas Eve to a few days after New Year's Day
I'm the weirdo who likes taking random days off with my vacation days I plan on doing like a week at some point, but I honestly can't think of the last time I had a straight week off since I've begun working (Besides when I've switched jobs and used the time off between jobs to move or to prep getting ready for working at a new place, but that ***is too stressful to call a vacation) So the eldest learned how to whittle today, in kindergarden.

Very awesome how well the kids use the items? Yes. Slighlty odd to walk onto the playground to pick up my almost 3 year old and talk with a 5 year old about the boomerang she just made and seeing the axe and saw on the picnic table readily available to get more branches? Yes. Especially coming from "no tolerance" schools I went to in the US. But our daughter is having a blast. Offline
