So we had some moves around the office recently.
I'm now sitting near someone who insists on speaking loudly, and clearly, in a very grating voice, to everyone she speaks to. One of those people who doesn't seem to understand you don't need to speak louder into the phone because the person is far away, or that if someone is standing right next to you, the person on the other end of the room doesn't need to hear the conversation too.
We make a lot of phone calls.
And she doesn't have, shall we say, the most lyrical of voices.
*** cuts right through my headphones too. It's just that frequency. But the social contract doesn't permit me to say anything.
So, TL;DR, this woman's voice in my workday right now:

in other news...
I have been having some weird luck as of late. Sunday I was the first on the scene at a motorcycle accident and the wife and I had to help dude and his bike off the highway, call 911, ect. Then later the same day (this was all pass out on the beach in a drunken stupor day) a gigantic inebriated native american fellow wanted to fight me for picking up his leg and closing his truck door so I could get into my wife's escalade, as he was passed out in the driver's seat of his avalanche. I tried rousing him a few times previous, to no avail. the kids were all panicked, and I was like, 'don't worry you silly kids, he could barely fight himself right now'
So I thought it was just 1 day of mayhem, but then yesterday I found the boss's dog in a 14" hole that was 6' deep or so, in water up to her chest and scared shitless. I don't blame her, as she's an old lab and I'm not too sure how long her weak hind legs would have held up in 102 degree weather. some idiots were building a lean-to and left the postholes open whilst they went and worked on something else. the stupid ***. It was kind of funny though, because I was trying to pinpoint the whining for 5 minutes or so, I finally found her, looked down, and said aloud "JD what are you doing in that hole?!?!" and through the great magnet I could hear her think, "I fell you stupid ***, GET ME OUT!"
I'm really hoping all the excitement has come to an end. yeesh.
