Sometimes you need extra iron.

Sometimes massacre-ing a 16 oz rare rib-eye to the horror and befuddlement of onlookers does the trick too. :)

Every video I've seen where people try Swedish stuff they do it wrong lol

Like when they try knäckebröd (the crisp bread) they eat it without anything on it, you're supposed to eat it like normal bread

Or surströmming they just eat it straight from the can like some monster, supposed to clean it in water first and you don't open it out of water or you get the smell everywhere

Where are the people in the video taste testing Swedish food from?

Pickled herring. Once in a while, pickled herring can be pretty good. I'll still opt for lax given the choice.

We pass a pretty good place to catch sand bass on the way to the current job and that got us all craving fried fish.

Hey so.

They were saying 4-6" of snow.

I got about 18".

But luckily it was over the weekend so I didn't get any time off work, it only interfered with my free time.

Luckily.

Truthfully though, it kinda made me nostalgic for being back home where this wasn't "Blizzard Jonas," it was just "a Saturday in January."

Eh.

It was sort of a lot for people south of I-80. I think I can only recall a time or two we got nearly this much down here. Back home it's the kind of thing you get six or seven times a year, but it's an every two or three year thing down here. I think I've only seen this much one other time living at my current apartment.

Which is good, because I got one vehicle dug out, but the other I cleaned off but is still basically trapped in snow, because after three hours of shoveling I have literally nowhere else to put snow right now unless I carry each shovelful about forty feet away. I've got an approximately 5'x10'x8' pile of snow in the front "yard" I share with my neighbor and the snow plow *** driver this year decided that the wee bit of yard on my neighbor's other side was the place to push all the parking lot snow.

Yeah...Google Johnstown, Pennsylvania sometime and find all the stories about how it ranks as one of the poorest, most miserable places in the country.

And know that all those stories? Totally true.

It's about 40 minutes away from me. I go there a few times a year for various reasons. It's actually a lovely area but...yeah. It's pretty *** depressing how terrible the city is. Like, you go there and you call your office to make sure you still have a job, because just being there makes you feel hopelessly unemployed and ready to begin a crippling heroin addiction to cope.

Update on crazy cousin, if anyone is interested;

Crazy's wife got an inheritance back in November and she let crazy go buy a truck of his choice, so he goes and buys one, takes it hunting up around us because we wouldn't recognize it, brags about it a little, etc.

Few weeks ago he finally contacts drunk cousin and asks him to take a look at the front end. According to drunk cousin, who is good with cars, the entire front end is worn out. Nothing is actually good on it.

Karma is a ***.

Also, crazy has this tendency to think if he's getting a good deal, he's being screwed. So I'd be willing to bet he passed up a few better, much cheaper trucks to buy this one, probably for much more than it's worth.

Bonus Stupidity: When he was bragging, he said the engine is 'bulletproof'. This is a sales pitch expression. "Equipped with the bulletproof Ford 302.", "Equipped with the bulletproof 4.0l inline-6." He's dumb enough that he took that literally.

To be honest, I'm pretty surprised he hasn't.

Basically, Killeen is a chicken/egg scenario. Is Killeen trashy because of Fort Hood, or, even without Fort Hood, would Killeen be trashy? It's a conundrum.

Just to give you an idea, a receptionist at a job I had in college was from Killeen. She thought those high-heeled Chucks that Jennifer Lopez wore in the early 2000's was acceptable office footwear.

Did crazy's wife spring for high-heeled Chucks, Girlboy?

EDIT: She was nice, but her lifestory was a very typical and unfortunate Killeen saga.

Morning Knights.

Everywhere else around here is closed... yet here I am at work.
Also spent the first 1.5 hours shoveling snow. Interesting day it is already.

How's the crew?

How are things closed? They've had 48 hours to remove snow...I get it further south where they're snow idiots, but in Pennsylvania?

Too many back roads, many haven't been plowed yet. Many parking lots also aren't plowed.

Edit: We also got about 31" of snow lol

Damn. Didn't think there was that big of a difference between there and here. Thought it was further south that it got nastier.

Well then! Carry on.

Heh, part of the roof is definitely sagging a bit from the snow.

Everyone is all panicking, "OMG WE'RE GOING TO DIE BLAH BLAH BLAH."

I'm just here like, *sips coffee* it'll be fine.
