My niece just turned 1 so I have a birthday party to go set up for and such tomorrow. Probably go see a movie or something too.
That's the time to shine uncle, if you can choose the right plush.
If chosen wisely it will be kept for many years.

Sadly her mother frowns upon my mennonite ways and does not allow the traditional toys of the mennonite past the threshold of her home so I have had to purchase heathen items for the momentous occassion.

'Drunk' squirrel causes hundreds of pounds of damage

Quote:
A "drunk" squirrel has caused hundreds of pounds of damage at a private members' club.
...
Mr Boulter, 62, said he then saw a squirrel "staggering around" after coming out from behind a box of crisps.
'Turned on the taps'
He added: "There were bottles scattered around, money scattered around and he had obviously run across the bar's pumps and managed to turn on the Caffrey's tap.
"He must have flung himself on the handle and drank some as he was staggering around all over the place and moving a bit slowly.
"I've never seen a drunk squirrel before. He was sozzled and looked a bit worse for wear, shall we say."

Chester police rescue distressed woman from squirrel
Quote:
A mischievous squirrel was the unlikely subject of a bizarre call to police - after the rodent jumped into a woman's handbag and refused to leave.
The distressed woman was outside the Shropshire Arms pub in Chester when the grey squirrel began to drive her nuts.

Eyam cockerel's owners served with noise abatement notice
Quote:
The owners of a cockerel have written to their local MP after a council served them with a noise abatement notice.
William the cockerel's dawn crowing has been annoying at least one Eyam resident, who has complained to Derbyshire Dales District Council.
...
"Apparently he crows too loud in the morning - he joins the dawn chorus with all the other birds in the area and one person has complained.
"Sometimes it can be quite early - at the present time it's probably 7am."

The BBC loves puns, and animal stories. They're bound to overlap.

'Terrorist' pheasant farm tormenter 'tamed by love'

Quote:
A "terrorist" pheasant which chased "just about everyone and everything" at a Cambridgeshire farm has been tamed by love, the farm's owner believes.
...
"We were seriously thinking how to get rid of him, but last week he turned up with a hen pheasant," she said.
"We've been terrorist-free for three days and I think it's her influence."
...
Mrs Hamilton believes the pair have made their nest somewhere on the farm and the male bird is staying close to his new partner.
"He's such a handsome boy and we really didn't want to think about how to get him off the farm," she said.
"I sincerely hope he will settle down now - as long as he's not hen-pecked."

Yeah, well, they're still on my ***list because they aren't given Jeremy back his job.

I watched the final Top Gear airing this week. I was quite sad. It was depressing as hell.

The Danish toddler schools/daycare started vacation last Friday and lasts through next week. So, we've been busy entertaining the little one all week, and Mil has been painting the house (in addition to entertaining the kid).

Tomorrow -since it will be sunny- we'll go to a free animal park in a "forest" and feed some deer and birds. Maybe visit the beach and have a picnic around there.

Sunday -depending on weather- will be some variation of the above but if it rains we'll visit the library or places that have indoor playgrounds.

Basically pinky and the brain, a modified version:
Pinky: Gee, Brain, what do you want to do today?
Brain: The same thing we do every day, Pinky --try to entertain and tire out the baby, before she tires us out!

This sounds highly suspect.

Well yeah. It's one thing for him to chase you down and eat you, but presenting yourself as a snack along with a lovely aperitif isn't advisable.

that'll keep you busy. Shane was yelling 'poop' to try to get my attention, with minimal results, as I visited for lunch. It appears my weekend will be similar or I will face his wrath.
