I thought it would be later in the month. Lakshmi.Rooks said: » He's a puzzler; his favorite toys are actually the various child safety devices strewn through the house, which he has defeated 90% of. Amazing how kids can have absolute focus on one task for long periods of time. Amazing how kids can have absolute focus on one task for long periods of time. Yeah, we got him one of these for Christmas. He mastered it in like a day and then started working on the various child locks throughout the house, so the results have been, shall we say, "mixed" ;) Siren.Mosin said: » Free flavin! I removed his topic ban when I got up this morning. His behavior in PMs made me feel like waiting the full 24 hours, but I'm busy today and don't want to forget, so it's gone now. I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that he has not learned his lesson, lol
Siren.Mosin said: » I can tell you with a fair amount of certainty that he has not learned his lesson, lol Yeah, that was pretty obvious. I'll worry about that when the time comes, I guess. Lakshmi.Rooks said: » His behavior in PMs made me feel like waiting the full 24 hours It is also a violation of the PM secrecy act. how could you? Leviathan.Chaosx said: » MOD CORE!!! Nah. That was the result of long term leniency on a recidivist. Well intentioned and all, but some people don't respect the softer touch and that's that. If anything gets that far, then we've fallen down on the job in the first place, which should be to keep things from getting there. Lakshmi.Flavin said: » PM secrecy Pretty sure no one is shocked that you were acting like a jackass in PMs. If I saw you talk to anyone else the way you talked to me, you'd be able to see the mushroom cloud from orbit. Lakshmi.Flavin said: » Now obvious things are obvious to you? Yeah, like leniency isn't something I should concern myself with in the future. You openly broke a rule and got 10% of the punishment you should have. Duly noted, and all. [Mod Edit: Used a term that has connontations I didn't know about. Replaced with 'jackass', which is self explanatory. --Rooks] Shiva.Nikolce said: » I reported him. Public copy/paste of a PM is what's prohibited. I didn't share specific details, or a transcript. But yes, I get it, you don't want me in the thread. You've made that pretty abundantly clear. You're always welcome in my book.
yeah what's his problem?

I don't appreciate you calling sugar britches a ponce. first of all ponce is derogatory to homosexuals. it's the same thing as calling him a *** or a *** or *** or gay. all of which are not permitted in the TOS. secondly it's a very personal attack which is strictly forbidden by the TOS. Well. It's been an eventful morning in here, I see.
*sips coffee* *makes sour face* I think I need to change the filter on my Keurig. PARKER Edit:

Quote: ponce päns/ Britishinformal noun noun: ponce; plural noun: ponces 1. derogatory an effeminate man. 2. a man who lives off a prostitute's earnings. verb verb: ponce; 3rd person present: ponces; past tense: ponced; past participle: ponced; gerund or present participle: poncing 1. live off a prostitute's earnings. Quote: Term originated in the UK and came to prominence in the 1960's, initially to describe a pimp. In Spanish it means "prince" and could have either been referring to the fancy, over-the-top clothing and jewelry popular with pimps, or because he was surrounded by a harem of women, involved in the underworld, but usually not the actual "king" of the area (he had to pay tribute to use the block or neighborhood). Now it is generally used to refer to someone (usually a male) who dresses in nicer clothing and acts in a polished fashion; often interchangable with *** or pussy, but not necessarily as derogatory: a ponce is not necessarily homosexual, nor are they necessarily passive or weak, but they would tend to be thought of as metrosexual or gay in their manner of dress. In the US it also takes a bit of a tone for a poser or wannabe, primarily in the punk, ska, or artsy scenes. Let me spell this out pretty plainly, and then we can all get back to not dirtying up Ni with drama:
I do not care if you want me in this thread or not. It's one of the most active threads on the site, and it's my job to moderate it, along with everything else. I'd prefer to be liked, because I'm not a sociopath, but if doing my job means pissing off some people, then my job is getting done either way. I don't actively seek out fights with people, because truth be told I took the moderator job as a path to development work, and really don't have any interest in patrolling people's conversations. But I took the job, and that means doing it correctly. Break rules, get punished. That's how it works. I think most people here like you
Lakshmi.Rooks said: » Break rules, get punished. That's how it works. No because you and the other mods then take it too far. Punishment in the form of banning or temp suspension is one thing that's fine, those are the rules, those are the tools you have to enforce them. But we aren't talking about that, we are talking about the "*** shaming" that comes after. The mod core thread against kingnoobie is a perfect example. I'm certainly not the president of his fan club, but that was going too far. and so are the personal attacks and calling flavin names. if the people that enforce the rules are allowed to break them then the whole system fall into chaos. |
