Last day of this stupid summer course. I figured it would be nice to get a 16 week training out of the way in 6, but it's so compressed I've barely had a chance to enjoy the weather.

hey, good times. It's going to be a ball. My son (2) was staring me in the eyes, 2 feet from me in the pool, then purposely attempting to down himself to try to figure out how everyone else was going underwater. I laughed so damn hard...

His current favorite thing is to do something he knows is sort-of-bad but not actually-bad (stealing mom's coffee or dumping toys everywhere, vs., say, messing with an outlet) and then yell "I DID" at the top of his lungs, before we even ask who did that.
At least I've succeeded on the "instill personal responsibility" front so far, I suppose.

I overheard my son trying to convince another little boy that peeing outside is okay at a birthday party. We really don't care if he drops trou and pees outside in our backyard, so we did make it okay for him to legitimize it in a way. When he and the other kid made good on it, I stormed over there to demand he use a toilet and explain that we're not home. He automatically pointed the finger at the other tot despite me overhearing the entire thing.
Two things to add to the list of inappropriate behavior that we need to correct.

I just want some time off, I was supposed to be retired. After the 11th when the last assignment is due, I'm gonna have to be firm and say "Listen I appreciate all the work and money you've been giving me, but too much work with little time off is going to make my writing suffer."
In other news I bought and rented out another apartment to a self declared communist. We talked about politics for like 3 hours. Then he's like let's talk money. I'm thinking I'll be straight forward and say look I'll only charge €100 for the first 3 months then slowly raise it €20 a month until it peaks to €200, which normal rent is €240-260 in this area. He's like is €200 a month ok? I'm like, yeah you're in chief. That was easy.
Cool thing is he's a bartender at one of the more touristy cafes in the center of the city.
Also I didn't trick that girl that moved in a few weeks ago. I let her know I try to be nice by charging less initially to help people out, plus I don't go higher than €200. I think by year's end I may end up owning the whole building so I can finally institute apartment numbers, lol.
20 apartments in the building total and I'm to 6 now, including mine.

To be fair the last assignment had a bunch of grammar mistakes. I told the editor that's what happens when you give me too much work. I kept using the word woman instead of women a lot.

Last assignment I did learn something too.
It was about cosmetic surgery.
Even though more women age 14-19 get over double the amount of surgeries than men, males of the same age range are four times more likely to have a mental disorder who get any type of cosmetic surgery.
I was like wow, didn't expect that.
