Then there are the 9/80 workplaces; which don't actually do 9/80 due to overruns, as well as not matching similar companies' schedules. Alternating 9/80 weeks means that the max face-to-face you could do is 4 days.
I know I'd like to see a little more flexibility in our scheduling where I am (lookin' at you, four-day work week), but my weekends are truly mine, so I can't complain too much.

I cannot overstate the benefit he got from it, being able to communicate some basic needs clearly (and see that his needs could be addressed so much more quickly when we knew the problem right away). It took away large parts of his frustrations and just made him (and us) so much happier overall. That's very interesting and really awesome. I looked at this very briefly. But since our daughter is learning both English and Danish at the same time I didn't want to overwhelm. I do have to say I'm *slightly* expressive with hand gestures and she has picked up on those, quickly. Her first word was "Hi!" (Danish "Hej!"), followed by a wave. At almost 16 months she understands far more Danish and English than I was expecting, so maybe the next one will get some sign language tossed in. Especially if boys are less verbal than girls. But then it will be "Are we using Danish sign language or American?" Decisions, so many decisions as parents. Siren.Mosin said: » Defect to denmark ramy, you candy ***. Tried! Wife shot down the idea. We used to talk about it back in the old days (living out of the U.S. in general) but she's somewhat soured on the idea more recently. S'ok. I'm awful with learning foreign languages anyhow. Bahamut.Kara said: » Caitsith.Zahrah said: » was as a daycare attendant. It lasted about a month. Looking back on it I can't believe they left 20-30 3-5 year olds with a 17 year old, pretty much unsupervised. By working there my sister received a discount (she was 5 at the time) and I received minnimum wage ($5.15 hour). Good God! That is just insanity! I can't even imagine corralling that many kids. That's nice that you chipped in for your sis. I was paid $7.25/hour, but the snag was if you forgot to sign in and out at the admin office at the beginning and end of your shift, they wouldn't pay you for those hours. I forgot once and only once. What killed me was some of the attendants (who were around my age) were EC/EDU majors. It's a paycheck, but you would think that they would immerse themselves more than someone who was playing it by ear. On lighter topics, bottlenose dolphins have been spotted nearby in the bay.
For reference, that's a bout a third of the way up Hudson Bay in terms of latitude. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » What killed me was some of the attendants (who were around my age) were EC/EDU majors. Misa wouldn't tell me what was for lunch, & I'm not a enough of a big shot to hire him out into the tundra, so I went home & made a sammich & some soup. meh.

I don't know that the ocean's rise in temperature is necessarily a lighter topic, but I'll give you an A for effort. anyone watching the new true detective? seems pretty decent so far, though I admittedly fell asleep in the middle of it last night. also my daughters friend was sending 'flirtatious' next messages to a neighborhood boy saturaday. It was a huge spectacle, the little boy in question's father was wasted, & slurring angry sentiments at the teenage girls. it was a fistfight away from an episode of cops. It has begun. My denial levels couldn't be any higher. Siren.Mosin said: » My denial levels couldn't be any higher. Take luck! We're watching this season. We didn't watch last night's, though.
Ooooo~ Little Miss Mosirina! What's up with that dad? Shouldn't you and the dad of Miss Mos's buddy be the ones cleaning your shot gun? What was he so pissy about? My wife was getting pretty pissed at him. he was playing the whole 'the boy's only 11, innocent & pure, yadda, yadda, yadda' meanwhile an average friday night at their place would make most sailors blush. ridiculous.
