All I hear the roommate scream sometimes is: "PUT THE MONEY IN THE GODDAMN BAG" "DO WHAT YOU'RE TOLD, ***" "GET ON THE GROUND OR I'LL SHOOT" First time I heard him do all that I kinda wanted to run out of the house. I just tried it out last night... not the greatest game ever but it was fun...
that's because you're too busy playing 'keep little boy from killing himself' all night. that's a game that demands a ton of attention. you get a free pass on 0 game knowledge for at least the next 2-3 years. after that though, you better get with it. >: In other news, it got established yesterday that there is such a thing as "Thundersnow".
It was scary and beautiful at the same time. Valefor.Applebottoms said: » In other news, it got established yesterday that there is such a thing as "Thundersnow". It was scary and beautiful at the same time. http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/4012/ffxiah-linkshell-ni/16423/#2558683 WELL...
I got nothin. In other sadder news, pipes are frozen in the house and all my work laundry is covered in soap from being prepared to wash. Always the perfect time. Valefor.Applebottoms said: » WELL... My teaching clothes are smattered in mud. Thanks, Obama!

I think AB was referring to the first thundersnow for OK. I got about 25 minutes for the washer to start up or I have to call out of work. God dammit. >< This is the second time it's happened, first time wasn't so bad.
Luckily it's only a few pipes, the bathroom is ok (took a hot shower hoping that would help), the washer and the sink are having a few problems (sink can run, just the pressure is low and has a few spurts). Normally it doesn't get cold enough for the pipes to freeze and if they do, they thaw within a few hours after running water. Today was not the case, had to call out of work. :| Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Valefor.Applebottoms said: » WELL... I got nothin. Last winter (2012) I was running around to all the hardware stores looking for insulation to put over outside faucets. I received plenty of puzzled looks, especially at my attempts to describe it in danish. Turns out that most of the the outdoor faucets here have a valve which ejects the water when it gets close to freezing. Works until you reach temperatures where water freezes further back along the pipe inside the wall (-10 to -15C?). The problem wasn't the danish, it was that they couldn't figue out why anyone would be trying to buy something like that. Even then, should be able to evacuate the unit (unless the water has literally frozen around the agitator/drum or in the drainholes), hand wash a couple of items, hand-wring them to semi-damp and then toss in the dryer. I agree, AB flimsy excuse for missing work.
(I wish I'd have thought of it this morning, though) I probably would have hand washed them if I wasn't banking on the fact that the pipes would have thawed by now.. my bad. ><
Besides, I'm gonna be the only one home until around 7 anyways, so might as well be here to keep an eye on everything. O wait, you said you guys were thinking of buyin' the place you were renting? or something to that effect? Siren.Mosin said: » I thought you said you rented? or is that a figment of my imagination? I keep telling him that she's the landlord for a reason. Anyways, the "landlord" loves the house, but doesn't want ownership of it anymore. Boyfriend has been here a few years, and the roommate and I just got here. She said once the mortgage is paid off that she would just sign the house over to us if we really wanted it, but we're not sure if we want that responsibility. So even though we are renting, and she is the landlord, my boyfriend doesn't want to call her for anything that happens to the house. Like when a storm came and branches were on the roof.. and if an ice storm hit there went the roof. Or when the washer line was clogged and we could barely wash clothes because of it (I mean he had to drag out buckets of water to be emptied out because it wasn't draining, it was that bad). |
