ok, will someone tell me how the hell you're getting these high chains on birds? I've been in what I thought were good PTs, but yet have never reached higher than chain 6 or something like that. Please?

Especially if the other DDs aren't constantly randomly taking hate AND randomly running around the mob In my opinion... Thief generally isn't a good idea when a mob dies in less than 20 seconds. Thats why you need thfs that can SA ws then 30 sec later TA ws. Also peircing against birds rocks. The thing is most thfs really really fail at DDing since most people just really care about mythical TH. I've seen people rather have a Th4 thf that can't hit for any dmg than a TH3 thf that can DD really hard so most don't even try

Thief just requires too much timing/positioning to be an effective DD in a TP-Burn Merit Party. When a mob dies in seconds and you don't have Meditate or the ability to do large amounts of dmg w/o perfect timing/poitioning... You're not a very worthwhile addition to the party in my opinion.

Back in the day that generally involved roaming around in KRT or sky but new camps respawn fast enough

When you can easily do 1500+ Damage and take off like 20%+ of the mob's HP, you don't have to worry about killing it within the 30 seconds needed for the chain. That and a good brd/cor puller that has your next mob waiting as you kill the previous one.

Nothing to say they will be capable though.

And if you can't pull off a good DE sans SA or TA you still fail seeing as dncs do it all the time.

Highest I got on Lesser Colibri was at lvl 60 and that was like chain 20's.

The point is not breaking double digit chains. Ok, so these are primarily at 75. Anything at lower levels? Edit: Tbest posted while I was reading / typing.

I got like chain 100 something on lessers back in the day on my thf. Sad part is I did most the dmg once I got them to setup for SATA DE. Gogo merits letting me use it 2 lvls early. Had to use SH+1 too land it thought /sigh

The chances of having hate on one DD for more than maybe 5 seconds in a bird party is pretty rare in my experience. You'll have the first voke generally, then anytime someone uses a WS, the mob will turn. Unless your DD are all lined up in a row or something. XD Good luck getting that to happen.

If done properly at mamoolja on sea puks/mamools you can build a 73-75 exp pt that will get up to chain 100 but its fast paced and gets boring hella quick.

With Kard mainhanded I could DE from 600-1k(3x proc for 1k) without SA or TA, and that dagger is crap. I'm sure a well-geared THF could do a shitton better. In addition, lining up a SA or TA isn't all that difficult unless someone is running circles around the mob for no reason, or moves cause they're too chicken to take hate. That being said, I do agree with you for the most part. We probably aren't gonna be "Top-notch" or even set for a "Perfect" party, but we aren't completely worthless either.

Fact of the matter is... If you're not making the party, you won't get invited as Thief if there's a better option available. I have played Thief a TON and have Thief at 75 w/ TH4, Blau, Homam, etc. But... I'm going to invite a Samurai, Dragoon, or Warrior to a merit party on birds before I invite you a Thief. >.>

Yeah seriously I can hit 1k DE without SA TA on non peircing weak mobs easy. And really its not that hard to line up really. And even if I can only get TA action out thats still pretty good. Still can do SA ever 5 min gogo hide. But really a thf has to be on his game and well geared to do good. Unlike other DDs he can't just go /attack /ws rinse repeat

Hi
Edit: As of 2010-10-05 14:48:06 CST, Ni reached 10,000 pages.
Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.
http://www.nationstates.net/nation=royal_kingdom_of_ni
Continuation from: http://www.ffxiah.com/forum/topic/2873/ffxiah-linkshell/732/#150486
Update: Sorry Eternaltriumph, too much has changed D: (Page 698)
Eternaltriumph said: Yeah Chuu. Bringing you up to speed, Ludoggy is the LS pedophile. I'm the fountain of random and useless knowledge that makes you go "Hrm" with the occasional side of "holy shit he said what?"
Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
Luelle Smells.
