Cheating happens, common or not. If they cheat, obviously they don't like you so why are you with them still?
^^ If someone is cheating, they are obviously missing out on something in their current relationship that they are getting elsewhere. If this is the case, leave the person and find another. If the situation is that you just want to be with multiple people instead of just one, then don't get in a relationship.
Cheating is utterly pointless.
I do think that many people are afraid of being cheated on and use it as an out. When if you actually look at the situation, you didn't want to be with that person in the first place.
There are times where women like try to test to see if you really love them by doing stupid things like going to group dates with friends and seeing if you get jealous or not.
It seems like half the people I hear about cheating from are either like "everyone does it, so you should do it too", or "you're too young to be tied down to one person, go have fun". And the other half are like "I bet you're being cheated on"
Is cheating really this common? Or are people just using fear inducing tactics?
I don't think cheating is that common. Well, maybe in some circles, like for example if a person is just early twenties and still going out clubbing and meeting new people on a weekly basis, but not in my circle, where we are boring old grown-ups who haven't seen the inside of a club for years and like it that way.

If she does this, she's too young and still playing petty games. Women who play games and 'test' their men are not yet mature enough for a relationship. Wait a couple years until she's a bit more secure in herself and less skittish and petty.
I doubt you are considering cheating, because you're Row and that's not like you, I don't think. But if you are, don't. If she doesn't find out, you'll probably feel awful anyways. If you don't feel awful, you'll keep doing it until she does find out. Once she does find out, you'll lose a friend and a lover and trust that will be impossible to reclaim. You'll also always have the 'stigma' of a cheater, so to speak-- she'll tell her friends that you cheated, it'll get around to your next girlfriend, or your next one after that, or your wife. You don't really want to be married five years to a woman you adore with a kid on the way and have her hear from someone that you are a cheater. Even if you never cheated on her, she'll still distrust you for it.
Just my opinion. Same goes for girls. If you think you might cheat, have the respect for your partner to break up first. A break-up is always better than a betrayal.
But as it stands, we human beings are a ferociously emotionally unstable lot. We do ***we shouldn't, we break promise. Sometimes, we cheat.
Sometimes a relationship is worth saving. Sometimes it's not. It's really a case by case thing. There is no heavy black/white "cheating is always grounds to breakup."
Some people get struck by depression and cheat because they're spiraling down and are trying to find a sense of worth. Sometimes you're tool damn hurt to communicate right.

I agree with this 100%. I have known people who cheated for <insert reason here> and it was a one-time thing. The couple worked it out and stayed together for almost 35 years.
my dad cheated on my mom but if they stayed divorced i would have never been born :P they got back together and he said he was young and stupid and still together to this day but not really the most affectionate couple lol i know people cheat but its not something id ever do knowingly lol i guess once a guy liked to call me when i was with someone else and i was told i was emotionally cheating on my bf lol :I didnt occur to me then but now i guess it makes sense :\ lol still if a bf cheated on me i probably would just dump and move on with my life lol
When people cheat, it just *** everything up. My latest ex told me very specifically that if she found out I was having sex with someone else while the two of us were together, she'd break up with me without batting an eye. And I totally agree with that sentiment. If you really feel you need to have sex with another person, then you're not mature enough to handle a relationship. So, I stood by her statement thinking it was 100%. Turns out just before I broke up with her that she wanted to have sex with other guys, and that she wanted me to just accept that and as long as she told me about it, she was free and clear. This is the same chick. So to me, the whole subject is beyond *** up, at least with her. It seems you can't take anyone's word on anything.

what that makes no sense lol :I
I know! It was a complete 180! I was reeling when I heard about that. So I stopped the relationship right there.

Sometimes you're just a cheating ***.

This is true, too. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, no one is infallible. It's just, well, cheating is a very very big mistake. Most of you here know that my mother cheated and that is why my parents divorced. That was well over twenty years ago and she still regrets it deeply to this day and that my father and her are still in love. My mom ended up marrying the man she cheated with, they divorced several years later after years of horrible married life because he was molesting their foster daughters. He's in prison for child molestation and he can rot there. My dad has been halfway miserable in his marriage for years as well. I think if they had both been less prideful back in the day, they could have worked it out and remained married and both been much happier for it.
Cheating never occurred to me as an option, ever. It's just not something I do.
This friend of mine has been cheated on in the past, it's like her life is surrounded by cheaters. Her parents had cheated before, her grandparents admitted to cheating. I think she assumes everyone is a cheater to some degree. How does one explain what stops someone from cheating? I try to tell her not everyone is like that. But it's hard to convince someone of something like that when they've never seen proof.
:-( That is a difficult situation. Everyone seems to know someone who has cheated, but that doesn't mean everyone cheats. Maybe finding several people who have never cheated and telling her about them would help. Poor girl, that's just setting her up for a hard time later if she can't trust anyone. It's not fair to her boyfriends either, it's selling them short and maybe even hurting their feelings that she can't trust them.

I'm sure the younger you are, the less consequences there are to cheating. As opposed to when you're older with a house, married, kids, pets, etc. I don't understand how men would cheat in that circumstance. If they cheat, they lose half their things.
However, women in that situation usually get rewarded for cheating. A woman cheated on you and now she wants a divorce and she wants half your stuff? Sure, go ahead.
She loses half as well. If the judge is fair, anyhow. Unfortunately, she'll also usually end up with more custody of any children she's placed into the middle of the situation.
Women don't seem to think that men have feelings or that they won't be devastated to find out their wife was cheating. I think some girls think that their boyfriend might be mad just out of jealousy, but not out of hurt feelings or a betrayed feeling. It makes me sad when girls think like that. Men would feel just as heartbroken as women would feel in that situation!

My qualm with this is that some of us simply have the urge to be more sexually active than our partners.

This is also quite true. And maybe it's not exactly the same with everyone, but a trip to Palmdale is better than ruining your relationship with someone else because they don't like to boink as often as you.

Since we all can't be on the same linkshell in game, this can be our cross server linkshell thread.
Like most linkshells, it can be pretty dead at times. Other times it's full of intense conversations about either rl, gear, goals, pokemon or anything else you want to contribute.
We can cover any sort of topic at all, within reason of the forum rules. No real main topic, just a bunch of FFXIAH friends/people coming on and discussing random things.
Yeah Chuu. Bringing you up to speed, Ludoggy is the LS pedophile. I'm the fountain of random and useless knowledge that makes you go "Hrm" with the occasional side of "holy shit he said what?"
Kungfu is the LS nutjob, spouting super random things that are usually sexist, until Savvy or Alyria comes into the room. Then he's a classic case of sexual harrassment. Rumaha is also true to the second part; we're wondering about his sexuality though.
Daj is Ludoggy's gay lover. Not much else is known about this Asuran. Tairo is kinda new, but since is a female and Alyria's lesbian lover, she fit right in real quick.
Celene(F) and Rowland(M) are more of the shyer members, but often say things that are witty, have a good pun and sometimes cause three page discussions. Celene hates when people hit on her. It doesn't stop them from trying.
Krizz is just social and likes to kill time here during work Tbest is about the same, except tends to be a douche to guys and affectionate toward girls.
Alyria is the most social female, gets groped a lot without provoking it by others, and Tairo ends up stabbing people for it. Cai is just a barrel of lols, I might be gay for him. If I wasn't straight.
Not sure about Citag, s/he's new. Kiriyu is just an in-out kinda person. Says one thing every three days that every guy makes a big fuss over. Ludoggy gets really defensive since she's asian and underage (might be 18 now).
Artem is the wayward soul that makes you ponder the meaning of life by constantly reminding us life can suck. But he deals, and so do we. About the same for Savannah, except people are more "AWH!" to her because of a vagina involved.
Dasva is the ex military man (as is Krizz but this doesn't apply to him) who hates the world and plots a way to destroy most of it.
Number2 is kinda like a mix between Cai and I; never bashes, likes to laugh and has odd avatars. His current suits a lot of the convos this LS gets into. Barti is most well known for his moustache. He gives mousatche rides for a fee. I'm missing a few people but whatever. CARRY ON!
Luelle Smells.
